For some reason this article didn't make into today's Israeli "Good News" newsletter.

JERUSALEM — A Palestinian teenager died on Friday after being wounded by Israeli gunfire near the Israel-Gaza border a day earlier, according to medical officials in Gaza.

The Israeli military said that the teenager, Adnan Abu Khater, 16, was one of a group of people who approached the border fence and began “vandalizing” it on Thursday. A military spokeswoman said soldiers shot at the “lower extremities” of the “suspects” after they ignored warnings to move back.

Later on Thursday, a rocket was fired from Gaza, the Palestinian enclave run by Hamas, into southern Israel, and Israel retaliated overnight with airstrikes on what the military said were three underground rocket launchers and a “terror facility.”

Two more Palestinians were shot and wounded by Israeli forces near the border fence on Friday, according to Palestinian news reports, after protests broke out at Mr. Abu Khater’s funeral.

The clashes were the latest sign of an erosion of the fragile cease-fire that ended a fierce round of cross-border fighting in November 2012.
