🤞

I do hope so!

From what I gathered, NVC is still working (we are still missing the affidavit of support).

But with embassies closed until further notice, who knows when they'll start scheduling interviews again... 😟

Have you read anything about that?

Hey LoveinChicago,

No I have no news about what embassies are doing. I cannot find anything about the French Embassy (it's clossed right now except for matters of liveanddeath).

For sure the interviews are piling up for when it will re-open... what a drag.

Take care Love,

I have also read somewhere else that this will concern only employment-based green cards and family members of green card holders, not US citizens.

For our story, look at my profile.

Hi everyone !

I just got an e-mail from NVC telling me the status of my immigrant visa application was updated on the CEAC website.

So I checked and saw that all my docs (IV application + civil docs + AOS docs) were accepted !

I also noticed that they sent me a note in my "Messages" saying that I need to submit every form W-2/1099 from my already submitted joint sponsor's tax transcript.

Does that mean I need to submit them on the website (and maybe have to wait for another two months) or that I need to bring them to my interview at the Paris embassy ?

Thank you in advance for your help !

Hello back Laurent,

And congratulations :)

Don't upload anything new on CEAC's website.

For some reasons, it happens all the time, they DQ you and then it is a big mess with the list of documents you have already uploaded. It happened to us as well, they asked documents that we already uploaded and even mixed the names of the documents. Our lawyer said not to bother as long as you get the message saying "Documentarily qualified".

The next key step is of course now, the Embassy where for sure, we need to bring all documents requested and even more.

Take care 😉

Let's hope everything will get back to normal for resident/green card holders too. Very sad for all those who went through a long process based on a US resident petitioner. :(

Thank you for your answer Alix 🙂

In the e-mail and message (on the CEAC website) that the NVC sent me, nowhere does it say « documentarily qualified” unfortunately ... that’s why I’m confused about what to do.

When you got DQ, did NVC sent you an e-mail or a message on the CEAC website ?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Ok, so we got 2 emails:

the first one had the following object :

"Notice regarding your Immigrant Visa Case becoming Documentarily Qualified"

and in the email:

"Dear xxx,

The National Visa Center (NVC) received all of the fees, forms, and documents that are required prior to attending an immigrant visa interview at a U.S. Embassy/Consulate General overseas.

NVC will work with the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General in PARIS, FRAN to schedule an interview appointment for you. Once we have confirmed an interview date, we will send a notice to you, your petitioner and attorney (if applicable).

Please do NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until you have received an immigrant visa from the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General.

The U.S. Embassy/Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of the interview. Please visit https://nvc.state.gov/prep for information about immigrant visa interviews.

Regards,
National Visa Center"

The second email (received at the exact same time) said :

"The National Visa Center (NVC) updated the status of your immigrant visa application. Please go to the Department of State's Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) at https://nvc.state.gov/ceac. You will need your NVC case number and invoice ID number to log into your account.

Once you have logged into CEAC, please look in your message box or on the Status Chart at the bottom of the page. If NVC has feedback on any items you submitted, there will be a new message with details. If not, please simply follow the updated instructions on your Status Chart to complete your case. If any column says "Pay Now", "Invalid Doc", "Incomplete", or "Re-Opened", that means you must take action by paying a fee, submitting a form, or uploading a corrected/missing document.

Regards,
National Visa Center,
U.S. Department of State
https://nvc.state.gov/ask"

We, indeed had a column saying "incomplete" eventhough we had uploaded everything (that is where our lawyer said don't do a thing, as long as you are DQed).

THEN ON THE WEBSITE, when we checked the message, it was empty at first, we had to wait few minutes to see something appeared and eventually the simple beautiful 2 words appeared "documentarily qualified".

Voilà. Let me know.

Hello Everyone,

Hope you are all well, safe and sound.

Are there any other couples on this discussion in the same situation than us, being : your husband/wife is living in the US and you are still living in France?

I am preparing for the itw at the US Embassy in Paris (I know right now everything is on hold but I still want to be prepared).

I would like to know if all documents have to be absolutely originals or only the ones that are strictly about me (=the applicant and French citizen).

The reason why I am asking that:

1) CEAC reminds us on their website that we must bring at the itw all documents uploaded, in their original versions,

2) my husband and I would like to avoid having him to fedex from the US to France important documents that could well vanish between the 2 countries.

It concerns the following docs (that were uploaded on NVC website):

- Form I-864

- My husband (USC) was married before and got divorced, so his divorce certificate

- his federal income tax return and W2

- his letter of Employment

- his birth certificate (knowing how long it takes to get a new one in the US).

If anyone was or is in the same situation, your help is most welcome.

Thank you,

Have all a good week-end,

Alix

Hi Alix !

Thank you for your answer 🙂

It confirms then that I’m not DQ, so I have no choice but to upload the W-2 hoping that it doesn’t take two more months to be reviewed.

I appreciate you taking time to help me !

There are no rules. Get prepare to wait 2 months and if it is shorter, it will be a good surprise 😉

Hi guys,

i hope everyone is doing ok .

i have a question about our future travel to USA.

France is still in confinement to may 11th minimum and even after that we heard today that we will still need an attestation to travel from region to region .

i have a question for those who flew recently to US.
Did you find an international attestation ? What justification did you have to give at the airport to justify such a long travel ?

I am a little bit confused and i don’t find anything online .

we would like to move in the end of may but it’s seems to be very complicate ... as usual ...

any help is welcome 🙏

have a good day 😊
