Hello fellow French!

We just got DQ today :D

Please share how long after DQ you received Interview Letter?

I was looking at diffrent timelines and it seems it is between 2 and 3 weeks. Does this seem accurate to you?

Merci :)

Congratulations :D

We got an interview letter one week after getting DQed but 2/3 weeks does seem pretty accurate.

Hello Everyone,

I spent over a year in the US when I was a student (over 25 years ago...), so (I guess?) I have to add to my package a US police certificate.
And I am in France.
Has anyone done this before (from abroad I mean)?
Thank you and have a good weekend 🤩

Case closed. "Note: Present and former residents of the United States should NOT obtain any police certificates covering their residence in the United States." which makes total sense.

My husband and stepson had their interview in Paris for CR1/CR2 visa.

My husband was asked when was the last time we saw each other and where.

My stepson was only asked if he had ever visited the USA before.

The CO never asked to see any photos, or beneficiary's children's birth certificates, or any financial information.

He only asked for Police Certificate for my stepson.

My husband said he had none because the child is less than 16 y.o.

The CO gave him back Denial Letter with Police Certificate circled on it.

He said unless Police Certificate is provided, no visa will be issued.

The age of the child is 15 years 9 months. The child had never been arrested before, never had any problems with the law.

The Paris Embassy immigrant visa documents list mentions Police Certificate for those whose age is 16 y.o. or more.

I am speechless......

This is not cool, and you are right, on NVC it says:

It is outrageous... but I would recommend just to provide one - it is super easy to have police certificate in France - you do it online and get it immediately...

Jez... I hope you get some news very soon.

All these complications we read about are freaking me out a little bit... birth certificate no older then 6 months, PC for kids under 16, visa issuing taking more then 2 weeks... I wonder what is wrong with them?

(I just asked for new PC and Birth certificate, just in case...)

Very annoying but I have the feeling you will hear about them before Christmas.

Fingers crossed :)

Hi ,

i see that you talk about birth certificate less than 6 months . Is it for the Petitioner or the applicant ?
In France validity fo BC  is  3 month
thank  you 🙏

Exactly I agree with you - normally in France BC is less then 3 months BUT one person made review stating embassy asked her BC less then 6 months old...(which I agree if you have one less then 3 months is perfect)...

just saying how inconsistent they are...and therefore scary!

Thank you very much for your answer @Devon&Sandra

i agree they are inconsistent And scaring ! Still waiting for second review and already scared for them to ask something they didn’t  asked 1st and 2nd time ..

but , ok , I will bring a less than 6 months for me ( French citizen - applicant ) but do they ask one of less than 6 months for my husband who is USC ?

i still have a LOT of time

ahead of me before being at embassy stage so if needed we will ask one .

Everything to make us paranoid (me at least).

What if, you get a 3month or less old French birth certificate, and you submit it with a translation that is older (because based on a former version) do you think, they could argue about the differences i.e.  the date +  the name of the French officer who signed the document?
