Bonjour à tous !

It's nice to find a discussion with fellow French people :)

My fiance sent our petition last month , we got the NOA1 on May 22nd, now the long wait starts for the NOA2, hopefully everything goes smoothly  !

Anybody can tell us about the current times between NVC case complete and interview?

I just got my case number so I'm not close to be done yet,  but just wondering what are the time frames for interviews at the Paris embassy.

And a bit about us, we sent the I-130 petition mid December, got NOA2 at the end of March and just got our case number.

Hi,

Congrats !

I had my interview last week in Paris. Our NOA2 is August 14th and we received it by mail on August 25th (Friday). We called NVC the following Tuesday and the women on the phone said that NVC received our case on the 25th, and she gave me our case number (NB: call right when it opens, otherwise you will have to wait on the phone for a long time before you can speak with someone). The case tracker then said that our case left the NVC on the 30th and was received at the embassy on the 5th. From there I booked the medical, appointment as you just need the NVC case number. And the envelope that the doctor gives you is good for 6 months. So even if you don't have you interview date yet, you can do it. On the 8th my fiance (US petitioner) received an email from the US embassy in Pars saying that our case was ready for interview at the embassy. From there I filled out DS-160, created an online account on the interview appointment website, paid the fees and booked an interview for Sep 20th.

When booking the interview, make sure that you will have enough time to receive the documents from the US petitioner, because you will have to bring everything with you to the embassy, and depending on how much he/she pays to mail you the documents, it can take up to 10 days to receive the docs from him/her. For us, sending everything in 3 days was $60, so we sent with 7-10 days for $6. So you have to take that time into account when booking the interview.

When I booked, they had slots available every other Wednesday morning. The earliest appointment available was two weeks from the date I booked.

You can find all the information on their website : list of documents to prepare, link to online booking system, contact information and instruction for medical visit, lab tests, etc..

Hey, congrats to you too!

My fiance had his interview in Paris today and they didn't specifically tell him at the end that he was or wasn't approved, but they took his passport and paperwork and told him to expect some mail in 2 weeks.

This...is probably a sign of approval, right?

If it can help fellow french people with the CR1, I just finished the medicals exams and here is what I can tell you :

Once you get your interview date, you can book the medical appointment online, it's pretty straightforward.

Before the medical appointment, you need to do a X-Ray, a blood test, and a urine test. You have only one choice for the X-Ray center, and two choice for the others exams. You can book the X-ray online too.

I went to labo Clement and still have a bruise 10 days later . The labs Don't give you anything to take back with you, but the X-ray center give you the X-Ray, a CD and some paperwork.

For the actuel visit with the doctor, I had an appointment with Dr. Jolly. I brought with me my passport, the results from the X-Ray, my vaccination record and all documents I found useful for a medical visit.

Costs : 50€ for the radio, 60€ for the labs exam, 240€ for the doctor visit… I guess they are just trying to prepare us to the costs of medical in the US

Interview is on 4th of September, and I will give a feedback on that too!

Thank you very much for all the details! They are very useful. The website says 300 euro for the exam, but I guess they’ve upgraded the actual cost🙄

It’s good to know that the wait for the interview is not that long in Paris👍

Good luck to you, and we look forward to your detailed report after the interview!

Yes, they gave me appointment 3 weeks from the day I received the IL letter. So once you get DQ, it looks like it's pretty fast!

(I postponed it to a month later on purpose).

For the medical, it was pretty fast to book the appointments too, within 2 weeks (and during August when everybody is on holiday!)

Can't wait to be on the 4th of September and finally get all of that done!

Yes we were very lucky!

When we saw the waiting time in Nebraska (11-15 months) we decided to apply I129f (K3 path) even though people said it was obsolete. In some weird way this forced them to pick up our file and decide on it. So they denied I129f and approved our I130 - only 85 days after our PD date :)

I have seen more and more people in Nebraska doing now!

Ah, good to see that the application for K3 actually did something! You must be relieved then! Halfway there!

Hi K-Kwette

Thank you for detailing your timeline, it's very informative.
I am currently waiting for approval for K1, do you know on average what's the timeframe to get an appointment at the French embassy (after NVC) ?
And does the French embassy contacts you and choose your appointment date for you or you choose yourself?

Thanks again !

If you do a timeline search on VJ, it looks like your are looking at 5 to 6 months between NOA 2 and interview (that includes the NVC stage):

https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?op6=All&op66=All&op7=France&op1=3&op2=&op3=1&op4=1&op5=5%2C6%2C8%2C10%2C11%2C13%2C14%2C15%2C16%2C17%2C18%2C20%2C21%2C22%2C25%2C26%2C27%2C28%2C108%2C110%2C111%2C208%2C210%2C211&cfl=

After completing the NVC stage, you wait for the embassy to contact you with further instructions (https://fr.usembassy.gov/fr/visas-fr/visas-immigrant-fr/) :

For CR1, they give you an interview date, I assume it would be the same for K1.
