Have you figured out which doctor your fiancé may be going to for the medical ?

Logically I think it sounds possible to have the Interview and the medical on the same day. However an Xray and a few more test will have to be done outside the doctor office which means it may be longer , having the interview on the same day could be totally possible.

I ain't at this step yet but from what I understand ( Correct me if I'm wrong ;) ) but the beneficiary contact the appropriate doctor for his medical ( Via phone or email ) and then when it comes to the interview using ais.usvisa.com to make the appointment. So for both the medical and interview you are not contacting the same persons or website, I guess you can make it.

Someone who filled back in 2013 advised us to have the medical and interview very close so the beneficiary don't have to go back twice. ^_^

As the K1 flowcharts stated that "Some embassies require the medical the same day as the interview. Most require the interview to be done ahead of time and have the results sent to the embassy directly from the doctor." Hope it can help

Yes, we were thinking Dr. Francis Slattery as there is only two doctors to chose from in Paris. I thought the X-ray was included in the medical though. Do you know if it would be possible for him to get the X-ray done in his hometown to avoid traveling multiple times to Paris? I believe our only option is to have the medical and interview on the same day as I had mentioned it is a bit of a commute to Paris from home. (Praying it's possible!). In the email I received from the Embassy, they did not state anything about it being mandatory for it to follow on the same day, but it does state that it must be before the interview (of course). I suppose now that I have the appointment website figured out I should go ahead and get the fiance to schedule his medical exam. Thanks for the info!

From my understanding, the xray and bloodwork tests (two separate locations) need to be done prior to the medical exam, so that the results can be included by the doctor in your sealed medical packet. My fiance was advised to do his xray and bloodwork tests day 1, his medical exam day 2, and the interview day 3, so that's exactly what we've scheduled. The bloodwork results only take a few hours, so I don't know why you wouldn't be able to do the xray, bloodwork, and medical exam in the same day if you choose a medical appointment for later in the day, though. The last available interview is 10:45am, so I'm not sure you'd be able to fit everything into one day.

My fiance is from Provence, so we had to book an AirBnB for him for the 3 days (it's a 7.5 hour drive each way), but there are several rooms for rent for about ~$40 a night, which seemed pretty reasonable compared to the hotels in the city. Perhaps that could be an option for your fiance, rather than endure the drive?

Just so you know, when we were booking his medical exams and lab work, one of the doctors is on holidays for the second half of August, and the other doctor is on holidays most of August, so just be weary of that when you're picking your interview appointment. I believe one of the labs is also shut down part of August. They sure don't make it easy for us, do they?!

Glad you were able to get the fee portion done and over with! Good luck to you both!

Thank you for clearing that up for me, when it comes to the medical exam it's all a big scramble to me. If possible, I think we will try and score for the X-ray's and medical in the same day and then the interview the next day.

I have also considered AirBnB for while we are in Paris, but I have yet to look at the pricing (knowing Paris, I figured it'd be a bit on the expensive side) but $40/night is not bad at all. Hey, two days in Paris would be a nice mini vacation for us and give me a chance to sight see lol.

Are you serious? Why must they be so difficult? haha. I suppose he should go ahead and contact them about his medical then, and possibly I should go ahead and buy my plane ticket and prepare to accompany him? I definitely want to be there with him during the entire process. Medical, and all. Everything moves so fast!

Does the Embassy give you options on who does your X-Ray's or is it whoever you choose? and how do I decipher who to go to for the X-ray? because I know they give you two different doctors for the medical but they don't mention the X-ray's.

We booked his medical appointment through Dr. Jolly's website, and on it, it had information about where to do the xray and bloodwork. This page also outlines what days the doctor is on vacation, as well as when the xray lab and the bloodwork lab is closed, but they offer backup labs in that event, so it seems like you just have to work around the doctor's medical exam schedule.

According to the site, the xray's results are immediate, and the bloodwork results are available to be faxed to Dr. Jolly / Dr. Waldron as long as you go before 9am for one of the labs and 12pm for the other lab, so it's very possible to do all 3 in one day!

hey everyone!!!

do we need a copy of the nvc letter at the interview????

thanks for your response?

I did not see anywhere that you need to carry it over there as well , however I would recommend you to have with you (just in case , we never know what consular officer we will have in front of us ) what you have received from USCIS/NVC , a copy should be enough anyway

Do you have your interview scheduled and everything already ?

Well as it is wrote at the US department of State website "You are required to obtain the original documents or certified copies, and one photocopy (with the exception of your passport and photographs) for yourself and each family member applying for a visa. If you were required to send original or certified copies of supporting documents to the NVC" prior preparing your interview you will certainly need to get original documents, dated and most importantly signed in every case

Absolutely buddy :goofy::goofy::goofy:

What I keep telling myself is we passed the hardest part , the long wait is almost over and we are at the last step ( Embassy and medical ) :)

Okay here is what I collected from some VJ members from France

-> Case Ready (11/07 ) and packet 3 received from the US Embassy (21/07 )

-> Case Ready (06/05) and packet 3 received from the US Embassy ( 20/05)

-> Case Ready ( 22/04) and packet 3 received from the US Embassy ( 13/05)

So from here we can definitely say that it varies from a case to another , we are in August right now , maybe most of officer ans staff working there are gonna be in some vacation :star::content: It means less worker will be available for all the visa requests and appointment for this month  ( It also means more patience then :pop: )

So i'm also waiting , we are only Wednesday , we have until Saturday until they email us packet 3 :energy: Either way, from my personal forecast ( :P ) I'm sure it is going to be this week or next week :D:D

By the way may I ask you if you visited the 'oldie' thread from March Filers ?

hey!!its nice to read you, feel less alone on this thread!! :goofy:

yup this week or next week will be our week :dancing: , and you are right administrations here in France is pretty slow in august....so, yes no choice than to be patient!! :clock: its just a bit frustrating seeing other filers already booking their medical and interview without this packet 3( even if im happy for them all...i just need to vent a bit lol)!

i would love a end of august or early september interview and you what are you expecting?

i saw on several profiles that packet 3 was emailed on the same day, so i guess ours will come on the same date so lets keep in touch!!!

hang on tight we are almost done!!
