My wife and I got married overseas (outside U.S. And France) is it really necessary to registered Our marriage with the French government ? Our marriage is recognized by the U.S. Government and my wife has her 10 years green card, keep in mind that we have no intention of moving back to France which is why we never registered our marriage.....will she has trouble when it comes to US citizenship because we don't have "live de famille"

I don't think think you "have" to, in particular if you are not planning on living in France. It may create issues with the french tax administration, not sure about it.

As far as citizenship, it has no impact. The US doesn't care if your marriage is registered in France or not as long as you meet the criteria (just went through the process :))

HI everyone! I was wondering what the recent wait time between NOA2 and the interview is for the K1 Visa at the Paris embassy? My fiance will most likely be coming to work at the winery I currently work at once he arrives, we get married, and we file for AOS/his work permit is approved (he had come to the US to work at this winery two harvests in a row on a J1 visa-- that's how we met!). My company is hoping to get a rough estimate of what his start date would be. Our NOA1 date is 3/17, so if all goes well, we're hoping to receive an NOA2 by the end of May.

Merci beaucoup!

Hi Dhluong !

Between our NOA2 (March 22) and the day when the Consulate in Paris received our documents (April 22), it took 1 month.

Now, I kind of understood that I now have to wait about 10 days to receive my Packet 3, then I should get my interview about a month after that.

If anyone has any more information to share I'd be interested to know too! :)

Nice story! :-) I didn't meet my husband in Napa but we got married there (K-1 route also).

Once you get the NOA2, it might take a couple of months until he gets the visa (your file needs to go to the embassy, then he gets the interview scheduled... and more wait until he receives his passport back+visa with the sealed envelope). It might be quick, but it's also possible that it takes a while.. just be ready to expect some delays. :)

Bonjour,

ooo ok i get it!

i think that first you have to ask for it online here: www.cjn.justice.gouv.fr

then answer to all the questions

they will send it to your home adress in 10 days.

i guess it will be in french, so you will have to find a translator on your area, that is abble to do it

here is what i have found on the us ambassy in Paris info:

"All documents must be in English, Portuguese or French. Documents in all other languages must be accompanied by certified English-language translations. The translation must include a signed statement by the translator affirming that the translation is accurate and the translator is competent to translate."

hope this help you

frfrog, we have got our Bulletin n 3, that is not the question. In my bangkok american embassy they ask english translation, I thought so many people did it, that this translation should be circulating somewhere in internet, because why pay if you can do it yourself and make it sign by someone? I saved my time and money by finding some other translations, but not this one, I thought VJ members might have it. Instead I could share with them template of french birth certif into english for example.
