Hello everyone!

I arrived in the us a month ago with my K1. We got married two weeks ago and now I,m starting to look at what is next.

I will apply for a social security number, I read that they ask for a birth certificate. Do they really? It will take a while to arrive to the US from France and I wouldn't want time to be wasted.

Can I apply for the AOS while waiting to receive my birth certificate or do I need a SSN to get the AOS paperwork started?

We are in the exact same position! If anyone has any information, please do let us know, svp!

No need to have a SSN to apply for AOS. :)

Hello hello!

Good luck in your visa journey!

Hi everyone,

I have a quick question, I recently paid for the K1 Visa fee on the Embassy's online system, however I can't seem to be able to schedule my interview (which is on November 19 according to the last email I got from the Embassy), there are many dates available in October but all the November dates are greyed out and I can't click on them. I was wondering if this happened to anyone else and if I should just wait until more dates open up, or if I should try to contact them? Thanks in advance for your answers!

T'as utilise quel case number ?

Merci Didopage!

hi!

so a similar thing happened to us, when we emailed the embassy to ask, they told us that choosing our particular day is merely a formality and won't affect our appointment (if we chose that date or another). It's the email that they ask for at the door and at the interview. So if they gave you November 19th, your name is already on a list for that date and they will be ready for you at the Embassy on that date.

If you are worried though, I would email. I did this many times and they wrote me back in about two business days each time with helpful replies.

That's reassuring then, thanks for letting me know!
