Hi guys,

I'm wondering if you could help me.

Our CEAC status has been "READY" the past few days after our interview. They even changed our creation date to the day of the interview.

Now, however, it says "ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING". Is this normal? Did all of you go through this process?

Thank you for any help!

Hi!

Yes it is normal. If you didn't miss any documents on your interview, then your status should become "ISSUED" very soon! :)

Merci d'avance "fellow VJers" ! :D

Have any recent K1 filers received packet 3 ONLY via e-mail?

We are trying to schedule our interview for August, but usvisa-info doesn't allow us to book anything in August. We told the embassy about our problem, and they gave us the exact same instructions in packet 3, which is useless. So we found another number to call, which supposedly allows us to book the interview over the phone. But when my fiancé called, the lady said that we haven't got the right letter, and again gave us the instructions in packet 3. My fiancé then tried to explain that we received packet 3 via e-mail only, but the moment the lady heard the words "packet 3" in English, she said "sir, you speak English so you need to call someone else" and hung up on him. :(

We are going to try calling again tomorrow, but I just want to be sure. Am I missing something? Was I supposed to receive something other than packet 3 in the mail?

"Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.html"

Merci pour votre aide !

Sympa ton voisin.

Merci beaucoup !!

Hello! I looked for an answer to my question and didn't find exactly what I needed . . .

For the DS-261, choice of agent, when it asks for surnames, it says to put all the names that appear on the travel documents (passport).

My husband took my name, so his passport says "birth name usage married name". For example, "SMITH usage JONES". I don't know if I should put the "usage" on the form, or just the two names . . . What have married women (IR/CR1 rather than K1) done? Did you put "épouse" or just the two names?

Thank you so much!

To fill up the N400 form is not that complicated. I just sent mine this week after pulling it off for so long!

You can check the example form on this website. It is mainly putting down your info & answering some questions. The only annoying part for me was finding the dates of all of my trips outside the U.S. for the last 5 years (thanks technology!). The other part of why I put if off was the cost ($680, including biometrics), this is something I had to save for.

Next, (you have a few months while your case is being processed) but you have to study for the naturalization test. There is plenty of resources on Internet though!

Good luck!

If anyone can please help us, we're desperate. I am arriving in France in the afternoon of August 12th to bring paperwork and attend the interview with my fiancé. Because of this, we cannot do the interview any earlier than August 13th. We booked this date online, and then the embassy e-mailed us saying they changed our date to August 12th. When we explained why we cannot go on August 12th, they changed the date to August 11th. We have been trying to contact them nonstop as it's already August 10th, and it is not possible for us to attend the interview tomorrow, but the embassy has not contacted us.

So what happens if my fiancé doesn't show up to the interview tomorrow? Will they re-schedule the interview since we've been telling them over and over that he cannot make it, or will they reject him?
