Hi all I am reading over the NVC electronic guide and Im confused about something-- it says I need to scan in 2 passport photos... do they mean 2 identical ones? Because my husband had 2 passport photos taken and we sent one of those in during the USCIS stage, so I only have 1 left.

So should he get new photos or can I just scan the 1 in I have left?

Yes, scan 2 identical ones for NVC with name, date of birth, and case number written on the back of each one.

Either way, your husband will definitely need to take (or reprint) a few more passport-sized photos because he'll need it for the medical examination (check with panel physician for the number of photos required) and he'll have to bring 2 photos for the interview in Montreal.

The beneficiary needs 3 passport photos for the medical for a cr1/ir1 (preferably the same photo) and two identical ones for the interview. The interview ones are used for the visa and green card. Saylin has a link where you can get and print from home. Also you can use the NVC website to make them as well. Follow the guidelines on the NVC website carefully if you diy.

Thanks!

So when is the Medical Test? I just got into the NVC stage and am waiting for my case number, and I have all the things compiled in the electronic NVC guide. I didnt see anything about medical there, so now Im a little confused.

Presumably this will be around the time of the interview, correct? Because he has to fly to Montreal from Nova Scotia for that.

After he gets his interview date he can book a medical date. In Montreal it takes 3 days after the medical day to get the results back (so 4 days total) which doesn't include weekends. He doesn't ahve to have it at the time of the interview as he can pay $50 for them to courier it to him. It just should be done before the interview so he can take it with him.

Alright thanks for all the help.

Do you know anything about psychological things for the medical? He saw a therapist when he was 13 for depression, but has been fine since (hes 25 now)

He can mention it but he'll need a letter stating he is okay now and not a danger to himself or anyone else. But it was over 10 years ago and he was a minor at the time. So... im not sure. I'll post the Medisys froms again tomorrow. :)

weird - the EP stuff for China at the NVC website clearly states those passport photos are collected at the Interview, for Guangzhou.

It doesn't say that for Montreal? Ouch !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
