Hmm... should I be concerned about NOA2 to NVC?

I received my NOA2 through email on Dec 5th and later in the mail. However, as of today (about 3 weeks later), I called NVC to check on my CIS receipt number. Their automated system tells me they have "no record" of it. Should I be concerned or should I try emailing NVC manually instead to see if they have further received it and could have sent it out already? Anyone in my situation or similar? Thanks.

Call and talk to a live operator, or email NVC, their automated system tends to not have information for I-129F cases.

NVCINQUIRY@state.gov

If you use email be sure to include CIS Case number, Names and DOB of petitioner, and beneficiary.

Just relax! You just received the NOA-2. Plus, it's the holiday season so things are slow.

The same thing happened to me when I called the automated line. I got a letter from the NVC on the 20th of december saying in a week it would be forwarded to the embassy. I called everyday, it kept telling me we have no record. So after three days I called an operator and they told me it was sent to the embassy on the 15th of december.

I wonder too...

In order to contact the embassy, you need the new case number assinged by the NVC. You need to keep calling and calling if you actually want to speak to someone at the NVC. My case proceeded rather quickly at the NVC stage, although some have gotten hung up there. I'd suspect your case may have already been forwarded to the Embassy by this date - I'd send an email now and then at least if you can't get though on the telephone, you'll get an email response. I also received a letter form them in the mail.

Alright. I will try emailing NVC. As of today (Monday), I haven't received anything in the mail abou the NVC forwarded to the Embassy yet. If this is the case, I should be receiving the mail this week or so (if that is.. the NVC did indeed forwarded my case already). I hope they already did. Thanks everyone.

I never received a letter from NVC, I found out about our case being forwarded to the consulate, by their reply to my email.

I got my NOA2 on Dec 5th also.. took 17 days to get to the Consulate.. Didn't hear a word from NVC ..But I watched DHL noticed a package was Shipped from NVC on the 20th.. Had the Fiancee call the Consulate on the 22nd morning.. they told her they didn't get it yet but got a email from NVC that it was on it's way.. I called NVC and they confirmed it was shipped on the 20th..

At 4:54pm on the 22nd the package that left NVC to Romania arrived and signed for.. Most likely our Petition..

Just do some follow-up but of course who knows how this week will go.... I'm hoping to confirm mine in the next day or two..Romania still is in a Holiday mode on the 26th...so probably the 27th I'll know for sure..

Check DHL if your lucky not to many packages are going to your consulate and it helps give you some hope,

Ah, I see. So I guess some people never received notice even if NVC sends out to Consulate/Embassy already. Anyways, when you talk of DHL... what exactly do you mean? How would I check DHL (or even a tracking #, if that's what you mean) if I don't know my status yet? Thanks.

For DHL I did this:

GO to DHL Worldwide Express website http://www.dhl.com

Select USA

A new page will open

At the top highlight tracking and click on TRACK BY REFERENCE

In the Reference field type CORRESPONDENCE

For the Shipment date you should select a day before and after the date NVC said they sent your file.

Customer number leave blank

Origin Postal code should be 03801

Then Click Track

There are usually more than 1 package sent so track them both.

No need to call NVC and confuse the operator.

Though keep in mind, DHL indicating delivery dose not mean GUZ "Received" it, the cases remain in large boxes is a storage room for 2-3 months, then GUZ will "Receive" the cases.

So the only satisfaction you will get from tracking is knowing that the case has made it from NVC to GUZ's storage room.

Good Point YuandDan !

I guess we are alittle more lucky with the Romanian Consulate... They seem to be on the ball when it comes to this part of the journey.. Also once they receive packet 3 back... figure on 12-15 days to your interview.. Yes we are very lucky to have romania as the consulate... Except for the 6 hours taxi ride and hotel stay Veronica has to do....

I never received a letter saying my case was forwarded either. I found that the date of the NVC letter saying they had received my petition and would contact me when forwarded was actually the date my petition left for the embassy. I did have luck with using email to contact the NVC.
