Hey guys what's up? I received a letter on Dec. 30th saying that I was scheduled for my N400 interview on Jan 29th and all of a sudden I received a letter from USCIS saying this:

"This is to advise you that, due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to cancel the previously scheduled interview on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 for the above applicant. We regret any inconvenience this may cause.

We will advise you of any action taken on this case, including any rescheduled interview information, under separate notice."

I read buck load of topics regarding the same issue but all of them are back from 2008-2009. Did anyone experienced the same issue recently? Please share your experience if you dont mind. Some of those people said that it could result endless delay....

I got the same message regarding my GC interview. After reading some pasta here on VJ advising to go to the interview regardless, I did so only to find out that it had been cancelled for real. The officer explained to me that they didn't have my file. So I went back home. After a couple of months I was scheduled another interview which I successfully past.

So, yes such emails do happen and basically they mean more wait (couple months in my case) but nothing more serious than that.

Thanks for response. Can you be more specific about timeframe? how many months exactly took them to reschedule you?

CAUTION!!!

I just received a letter from USCIS saying that “This is to advise you that, due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to cancel the previously scheduled interview on Tuesday, March 11 2014 at 12pm. We regret any inconvenience this may cause. We will advise you of any further action taken on this case, including any rescheduled interview information, under separate notice!!!

I believe this is another trial/test from Almighty God; apart from that I just wanted to share to see if any of you is familiar with such a weird situation? Please don’t ignore to post your feedback based upon your experience/knowledge.

Yup, I showed up anyway and officer conducted the interview regardless. I requested a name change and because of that ended up waiting 4 months for oath ceremony, otherwise I would've been a citizen by now. System rescheduled me automatically after 1months from my initial interview (Jan 29th). I showed up anyway, but since decision was already made, supervisor told me that I was done and my oath was scheduled on June 16th. He offered me a same day oath in exchange of name change cancel, because USCIS doesn't have jurisdiction over name change, so I have to take my oath in district court. I decided to proceed with my name change since I already had my oath date. I received a notice 2 weeks ago and gotta wait another 2 to get it over with.

Did your interview got cancelled?
