I received my card in the mail today!

For some reason I still haven't received an approval letter. Logically, it should arrive before the card, correct? So I am thinking it could get lost in the mail. If this is the case, should I request USCIS to resend it to me?

I tried multiple times to submit it, but every time there was an error message that the form number is wrong and the case number cannot be located. I checked the info many times and everything was correct, so it might be a problem with the system. Can I request by phone to have the I 797 resent to me or do I have to wait 30 days before I can request it?

Also, how important is it to have an official letter of approval on hand?

Spoke to a tier 2 representative about my case being outside of normal processing times. She said they are currently working on January 6th cases. Seems strange since so many people, who filed after that got approved already...

They know you need an answer so they give you a random answer to calm you down. Be patient, someone has been stuck for years.

We are on the same boat.. called 2 weeks ago and spoke to a tier 2 officer, they said everything looks good but they just need more time (which probably means they havent worked on it yet) and told me to call back again after 2 weeks to follow up.. might try calling again tom... i filed 01/09
