Munfan,

My wife doesn't even want to know the month to month dates...she is assuming the worst case scenario of year to two for her to get her visa and actually join me in the states. I hope it doesn't take that long!!!!

Hi guys! I am new to this forum but notice alot of useful info being passed around!!

My husband (american citizen) filed i130 for me (im british citizen) on 14th March 2014. He then received an email a few days after saying that the papers had been received on 18th March 2014. Its now 20th April 2014 and we havent heard anything since. I know processing can take up to 10months or so and I may well just be being impatient but is there really no way I can track the progress of my paperwork?? I understand there was a backlog in oct 2013, but what is the processing time looking like now??

What if theyve sent a letter but it's just got lost in the post or something?? How will I or my partner know??

Any help appreciated!!

izzle,

Unfortunately there is nothing to do but wait. There are no progress reports.

But where did he file? Lockbox? It's always advisable to file in the UK if possible, could cut a year off your waiting time.

You should also sign up for case status updates on the USCIS website.

@bgammoh

I know what you mean. My wife is feeling the same way. She's assumed that this will now not happen until possibly early next year. My fear after reading the latest May visa bulletin is that nothing may happen until mid next year for F2A :( they've clearly stated they plan on retrogression for worldwide categories. My heart sank and I couldn't bear to give the news to my wife. I just got back from visiting her in London and it was really heart breaking and painful having to say goodbye to her everytime. I've already resigned myself to the fact that there will be no movement or change to F2a until July or September in the visa bulletin.

@prixxi82

That is a great ideA! Is there something on the Vj site that currently tracks this? If not then for all the January filers we could do a google doc spreadsheet to indicate applocation status rfe etc. Dates of approval would be a must. Is be happy to get it started and post a link if that's within the rules. What does everyone think? Or do we have something like this already?

First of all congratulations Cbrammer1219 that you petition was approved. I see that you filed from Chicago and went to NSC. I assume that you are from Illinois.

I am from Illinois as well. I filed I130 for my wife and went to NSC as well. PD 01/28/2014. Does that mean I should be getting approval soon? Did your file went to NSC or different service center, Please let me know.

and once again congratuations to you and your family.

You can create an account and also use the search tool with your receipt number .... but all you really do is look at the same thing day after day. You won't hear anything at all until you get an RFE or an NOA2. Better to keep stalking the forums and timelines here, at least then something changes day to day. :)

Other January filers want to share us some news about receiving their NOA2's? If the timelines are honest and accurate, I figure around 5-10% have already got theirs, but it's hard to judge how many people are keeping their timeline up-to-date. Like you all, I'm sincerely hoping for good news in May.
