I haven't contacted my senator but I've been reading a lot of the replies most of the people stuck on security checks are getting from their congressmen and its basically the same thing. Saying the checks aren't clear and we just have to wait. I'm just lost and don't know what more to do besides wait. Did you write to your senator?

you should I think that's what did it for me..

Congrats dear, i am very happy for you. I'm afraid if i could ask you, how long did it take your approval after you contacted your congressman? Thanks

I agree, that contacting the senator helps. They will provide you the same answer about secuirty checks BUT USCIS will move a little faster knowing you have extra eyes on you case. I was in the same boat with the extra security checks and reached out to my senator. I had an approval in about 10 business days after the senator's office contacted USCIS on my behalf. I truly belive I would have be stuck in the land of security checks if I had not contacted the senator. This is just my take on it though.

Hi! Well thank you guys for giving me that advice about the letter but can you guys also kind of help me out on what exactly I should be writing in the letter? I have no idea where to start if I can get it done today then maybe I can have them sent out today or tomorrow but I'm just real nervous.

You will go the your senator's website. Print out the communitcations release form, fill it out and fax it back with a copy of your NOA1. Once they have your completed consent form they will contact USCIS on your behalf and provide you with the information they received from them.

Thanks guys, I submitted and faxed the forms today to both senators, now we wait for something to happen I guess. Thank you for helping me out and putting a little bit of hope back into me that this step might work. Everything is worth a try, and at this point I will try anything to finally receive an NOA2.

Well when I was at the USCIS stage, ppl were saying that it was because they're making moves or touching your file. Which was being construed as a good thing for you. But when did you submit the e-request? Worse case scenario it could mean that something is about the be screwed up in your file. However, I think the typical advice is to call and ask them about it if you haven't done so already. Good luck!!!

Marriage: 12/10/2013
Sent I-130: 1/23/14
NOA1: 1/30/14
NOA2: 6/10/14
Email that it was shipped to nvc: 6/23/14
Received by NVC: 7/1/14
Case#/IID# assigned: 7/16/14
Received/Submitted DS-261: 7/29/14
Paid AOS fee: 7/30/14
Sent AOS packet: 8/1/14
Aos fee showing PAID: 8/2/14
Received and paid IV Fee: 9/8/14 (fee showing paid / DS-260 available 9/9/14)
Submitted DS-260: 9/11/14
Sent IV packet: 9/24/14
NVC Received 9/26/14

Arrived in US: 3/8/14

STILL HAPPY AND NORMAL AS OF 8/4/2016!!

AOS Approved per phone: 10/22/14
*Received what I thought was a false checklist on this date as well*

*Problems: Called on 10/27/14 11/5/14 and 11/20/14 just to be proactive On all of these dates except the last, NVC kept telling me that my IV document probably hadn't been reviewed yet. On 11/20 the representative told me that the BC needed to be inextensa and the marriage license. True enough I had sent an extracto. But requested a supervisor review bc I knew the marriage lic was inextensa. 2 days later called again and got the same supervisor who told me that the marriage lic needed the proper signed legalizada (sticker on the back)

Sent necessary documents/Received: 11/20/14 and 11/26/14

Called 12/15/14: got Arthur....after he checked and verbally spanked he sent me to supervisor Silvia who said she would pull my file and try to figure it out.

Case complete: 12/19/14 Sylvia called and left a voicemail, called and confirmed later that night and status changed to N/A.

Thank you so much Sylvia. May God bless you and your family.

Appointment date and time received: 12/27/14

***FAST FORWARD***

APPT complete/Visa approved: 2/5/2015

Anyone have an example letter to senator or congress just to get an idea, appreciated if anyone can send it to me!

I’m still with the security check no word from USCIS getting closer to my nine months in two weeks! It’s pretty depressing.

I wouldn't say that anything is going to be scwered up. Just that they have went in and done something. I agree that you should call and ask.

There is no example letter. You will print the release form from thier website. Explain what has been happening with your case and what steps you have taken with USCIS. Fax the release form and a copy of your NOA1 back to them.

Im almost at the 9 months mark also, my husband called and they said that the case is on hold for extra security checks, he also reached out to the senator's office who said they cant help but to ask the congress office for help, called the congress office only to find out that a specific person deals with immigration issues, but so hard to get a hold of her. This is extremely bizarre.
