No approvals today at all, I don't think anyone posts on weekends :(

apparently USCIS has been working on weekends, well in the past they have as people have posted NOA2's. not much happening this weekend. must be summer holidays????? you think????

yes, weekends are rather slow for people posting and thus makes life rather abysmal.

i lived for weekends while I was working and disliked that few people posted that i dreaded them. now that i'm off. i rather like it as i have time to catch up on other things. but, i do find myself searching for mondays....and another week of action, hoping secretly that its my turn to post victory!!!!

Hoping this is the week for us! I'm less than 2 weeks away from the 6 month mark, so crossing fingers. I decided to leave it all up to God's time since it's perfect :)

you'll be fine. its 6 months 5 days for me

Its interesting that it takes this long to do a background check on the petitioner, i should apply for a job at uscis when i get to the US just to see what goes on there :goofy:

Hi everyone, I found this site back in June for the first time. I have been literally waking up every morning and going to bed and checking this page all throughout the day to see if we have gotten any January approvals and what dates are getting NOA2. I have an NOA1 date of January 30th. Its gonna be 6 months in 2 days, and I am just so nervous. I have been calling USCIS and last week they had said they were working on January 13th filers (or after that date I'm not sure what they meant) but when I see how approvals are coming in there is no way to know what they are working on. They don't seem to go in any kind of order even if its by date, I have read a lot of the comments and there are people still waiting from early January. I am trying not to get discouraged but this is just so upsetting. I wish we could all have a speedy process and get our loved ones here! I was hoping my husband would be able to come to the US by sometime in December (before our first anniversary which is in January) but at this rate it's looking very unlikely as after approval we still have a long wait ahead at NVC/consulate for interview.

you are not alone, there are many people on here that are waiting from nov and dec to get their noa2!!! dates on the uscis website are not accurate. projected dates here are just that....projected. uscis service centers are backlogged as is the nvc. we must all be patient and wait....merrily.

when i began this process, i too, thought I'd be with my loved one for christmas 2014.....that dream is long gone. there's no way, I will be able to get through the nvc process and interview then poe before the year is over. so much for wishful thinking!!!!

best to make this time waiting productive. and be grateful that we are not in solitude. vj has been my saving grace.

I don't know, I haven't decided. I originally had planned on it but on the Canada forum people have had really bad experiences with it. Most people on the Canada NVC thread seem to be doing snail mail now. I have a month and half or so to decide though lol. We were really hoping to be done before the snow came, now I think we'll be lucky to be done before 2015.

We got approved on July 8th, but we don´t know if our case has already been received by NVC. We are currently living in Spain. Did you call them, CanadianMom? Is it a toll free phone number? Do they reply if we ask about this through an email addressed to nvcinquiry account?

you will receive an email once case arrives at nvc give this about 2 weeks from approval date. from there they need to assign a case number and an iin. once they do this and then put these into the system its usually another 4-6 weeks. things at the nvc are realllllllllyyyyyyyyy reeeeeaaaaallllllllllyyyyy sssssssllllllllllooooooowwwwwww. but happy to know your there!!!

as for email, don't bother, you'll probably have your case number and notifications from them by the time they respond to your email. they are very behind...

have you been reading the nvc july filers thread? the 1st post is very informative. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/503660-nvc-filers-july-2014/

yah, i've been following that too. i read in the nvc july filers thread that once they receive packages via snail mail its taking them 3-4 days to log them, which seems much quicker than the month to download via EP. I'm going to continue following both threads even though I'm not there yet. Let's keep in touch....you can be my guiding light

Okay so my petition still hasn't been received by NVC but I just want to prepare myself for what comes next.

After the DS-261 is available online (how does that work anyway, would it be available where we check our case status?) would I say that I'm the Agent representing my husband in Jordan? Or do we have to get a lawyer? I'm so confused.

Can anyone explain, please?

no lawyer...do it yourself and save the $$$. from what I've read most lawyers retained on this forum take the money and run or hide. few are satisfied with whom they've hired. vj is so helpful and they're so many people here to help. they've been through it recently or are going through it, so they know first hand current practices and procedures. I'd believe them over any lawyer.

the ds261 becomes available after case arrives at nvc and after a case number and iin are assigned. expect a 4-6 week wait on this.

once you log into https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/ here you complete forms and pay online fees.

but from what i read there's a bit of a processing wait between submitting ds261 and getting bills.

best to read http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/503660-nvc-filers-july-2014/

saylin has it all laid out in the first post.

good luck
