Can someone tell me how long it takes for the system to update my case status ?? I received an email from uscis saying they accepted my application but when I check my status it says nothing on record yet. I haven't received a hard copy yet for noa1. So how long should I wait for the status update???

Also where my noa1 will come? Overseas or to the us address I provided ??

It should go to the overseas address you provided, as long as you said it was your mailing address.

I-130 PETITIONS APPROVED IN 96 DAYS AND I-129F PETITION APPROVED IN 77 DAYS!!!

As you can see from my timeline I pasted below, my I-130 petitions were approved in 96 days and my I-129 petition was approved in 77 days. My Philippine beneficiaries are my wife and step-daughter. My Philippine beneficiaries do NOT live in the area hit by the recent super typhoon. Our case was NOT an expedited criteria. Finally, I didn't do anything special other than submit the forms and documents required by USCIS. Don't get me wrong, although I don't know how my case has progressed so quickly, I am really very happy with the progress so far.

As you can see from my timeline below, I submitted my I-130 petitions just last SEP 27, 2013 and submitted my I-129 petition last OCT 16, 2013.

CSC in Laguna Nigel, CA approved both my I-130 and I-129 petitions just this JAN 6, 2014 and forwarded them to NVC Portsmouth, NH. NVC Portsmouth received the petitions JAN 15, 2014. Yesterday (JAN 17, 2014), I received 2 e-mails from NVC Portsmouth stating they have started processing our I-130 (the e-mails requested completion of DS-261 and paying the Affidavit of Support processing fee, which we did). As mentioned in another thread, the K3 will be "cancelled" if NVC receives and processes the I-130 first. I was previously aware of same - that NVC will administratively close the I-129 if I-130 is being processed - but called NVC anyway just to confirm and yes, they confirmed that they will be administratively closing my approved I-129 petition since my approved I-130 petition is already being processed. Currently completing my Affidavit of Support (in my case, I-864EZ) and should have it submitted by next week.

I know you may not have requested an expedite, and that your family may not have been in the area hit by the typhoon, but the fact remains that ALL Phillipines applications were getting automatic expedites at that time.

I'm very happy for you, but it's not helpful to suggest that your experience is the norm, or to imply that you did anything more "right" than anyone else. You were lucky enough to benefit from the USCIS' typhoon relief measures, without having been hurt by the typhoon. You hit the jackpot. Most of us won't.

I do believe that things are speeding up now, and I do suspect that, now that the majority of the Phillipines expedites have been processed, those of us waiting since September and later will be looking at a wait much closer to the 5 month goal. Barring some other disaster, of course!

I sent my I-130 to Chicago via USPS but when I log in their website to track the package it says:

  • Expected Delivery Day: Tuesday, January 28, 2014
  • Your item was forwarded to a different address at 7:31 am on January 28, 2014 in CHICAGO, IL. This was because of forwarding instructions or because the address or ZIP Code on the label was incorrect. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

Seriously...it was supposed to be there yesterday and I mailed it to

USCIS

P.O. Box 804625
Chicago, IL 60680-4107

And I did mark the package I-130 Original Submission. Did anyone else have this problem? I just don't want that packet to come back to ME.

I wouldn't worry quite yet, as it's likely being routed to either Vermont or Nebraska, which other posters' petitions appear to have been sent.

Good luck:)

Once a petition is received, either you or your spouse can create an account to monitor the case progress here/ choose 'sign up for case updates':

https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do

I'm really not certain how long it takes from the NOA1 receipt until being present on the website, but ours was there as soon as we knew our receipt number.

From spending months reading the threads on this site, I have definitely noticed that some people just never get their case visible on the USCIS site... much to their frustration.

Good luck!
