I just say to visit my SO and in laws, alternatively you could say just to visit family but don't lie if they ask who. They don't seem to bother me visiting once in a while. From what I have heard, they start digging in deep if someone is visiting too frequently without good reason. It all really is subjective and everyone has different stories. I just don't bother thinking abt "what If" scenarios. If you have never over stayed or done anything illegal, there's nothing to worry abt.

I was just debating between whether adding "my husband" is giving too much information or not. I'm definitely over-thinking though as I've never had issues crossing. Thanks :)

I am the beneficiary.

Okay, so I have a question. I got a family friend to sponsor my husband (for the affidavit of support) because my income isn't very high and I was unemployed for a few months and now I'm behind on my bills so I was thinking about getting food stamps for a few months. Would that affect the papers in any way? Should I not do it? Does anyone know anything about this topic?

You getting food stamps has no bearing on the issue. Long as you don;t include him you are good to go. It happens. Times are hard.

The choice is up to you if you want to it won;t influence your petition at all. Long as you don;t include him in the # you are fine.

Great News January Filers!!! There is someone in the December Filers thread that has a PD of January early something. They are in the December thread because they sent their petition in December ... they are approved at TSC!! So, it would seem that some Dec/Jan petitions are sneaking out of storage and finding their way to daylight. Yay!!

I am the USC Petitioner. My wonderful wife Laura is from Scotland.

Tell me about it. I feel so betrayed by our neighbours to the south.

Arrived in US: 3/8/14

STILL HAPPY AND NORMAL AS OF 8/4/2016!!

AOS Approved per phone: 10/22/14
*Received what I thought was a false checklist on this date as well*

*Problems: Called on 10/27/14 11/5/14 and 11/20/14 just to be proactive On all of these dates except the last, NVC kept telling me that my IV document probably hadn't been reviewed yet. On 11/20 the representative told me that the BC needed to be inextensa and the marriage license. True enough I had sent an extracto. But requested a supervisor review bc I knew the marriage lic was inextensa. 2 days later called again and got the same supervisor who told me that the marriage lic needed the proper signed legalizada (sticker on the back)

Sent necessary documents/Received: 11/20/14 and 11/26/14

Called 12/15/14: got Arthur....after he checked and verbally spanked he sent me to supervisor Silvia who said she would pull my file and try to figure it out.

Case complete: 12/19/14 Sylvia called and left a voicemail, called and confirmed later that night and status changed to N/A.

Thank you so much Sylvia. May God bless you and your family.

Appointment date and time received: 12/27/14

***FAST FORWARD***

APPT complete/Visa approved: 2/5/2015

Tell me about it. I feel so betrayed by our neighbours to the south.

Yeah i don't think they like Canadians much, last year in May i tried to visit with my then fiance and i was questioned for about 4 hours and then denied entry because of lack of ties to Canada, i wasn't working at the time, they never looked at my greyhound bus return ticket. Got married and hubby filed papers, he comes up to see me often, although i am now working im still scared to take that chance to try visiting the us again. Everyday I say a prayer for us all who are waiting on papers to start our new life in the us. Hope we can hear something by next month.

I am following Igor's list every day and it seems that at one point they were approving January filers, then they went back to December and now November, seems a little backward to me. Its disappointing to read.
