You can file the I-129F now. Financials are not sent with the I-129F petition. That will needed later for the K-1 visa interview. The guide lists everything needed with the I-129F > http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

For self-employed, you use your most recent tax return to prove your income. By the time your petition is filed, approved and your fiance(e) is scheduled for an interview, you should have your 2013 taxes filed already. You can provide a copy of that return at that time. You have months before needing it.

In an unrelated question, what happens if one gets married on k1 and does not file taxes together?

Since it is unrelated, not sure why you posted it in this thread. I am also not sure what situation you are describing. If someone enters on a K-1 and you marry them, then you file either married jointly, or married separately. You will be married, and so you cannot file any other way than married. If you married anytime in 2013, then you are considered married for the whole year. If you marry in 2014, then you will file your 2014 taxes as married.
