we are all awake until dawn of January 1. Eating, singing karaoke, calling friends and relatives who are far away. Greeting all the neighbors and friends near by. Watch the firecrakers show. Mostly we went to bed around 3am-4am of January 1.

My husband and I have been fortunate enough to have spent every New Year's Eve together since we've been a couple. We're usually out and about, celebrating. The first year we were in Italy, then the next Spain, and last year we were here in Boston. We talked about it last night actually, and we decided that this year we just want to hole up at home with some champagne and ####### Clark. :D

My husband wants to go out like... to a club dancing on New Years Eve... I'm reluctantly willing to go, because I feel bad saying 'I hate clubs and the people at the clubs and everything about this idea!!!!' *I* would rather stay in and do option number 4 on the second part of the poll while we watch the New Years Rockin' Eve on TV. But ... I guess it won't kill me to go to a club... though it MIGHT come close to killing me...

Edit: I wouldn't mind going out to a friend's party or something, but to a CLUB... with like... attractive young people dancing to the techno music?? Help me Lord... Blagh!

My thoughts exactly! I hate clubs at the best of times, but on New Year's Eve they're my idea of hell. I hate going out on New Year's Eve... even perfectly good bars that I normally love become nightmarish on Dec. 31st. As for clubs... ugh, I wouldn't want to go to them at the best of times, let alone when the entry & drinks prices are vastly inflated and I have no hope of getting to the bar, being able to move, or actually being able to carry on a conversation - no thanks!

God, I sound OLD!! (But... I've always hated clubs, so it's not because I'm getting old!)

This year I will be staying in and spending vast amounts of time talking to my boy via Skype & MSN, and seeing in 2007 twice, five hours apart. Although I'll have a hard time fighting off all the 'oh but you can't stay in, you have to come out!!' attempts to make me go to some hellhole club! (oops, sounding old again there  )

2005 - We met

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png

Oh no, believe me, it has nothing to do with age! I'm 22 years old and I can't stand clubs and this is the age of peak club-itude. I can only imagine what I will think when I'm older lol.

I'd rather stay in on New Years Eve too, but I think I might have to take my husband someplace, even if I can convince him that a club is a bad idea. He wants this friend of his from Albania (who lives in Washington, DC now) to come up to NYC and visit, so the pressure's on to come up with something for us to do, if this guy visits. Pressure is also on for me to find an American friend to accompany us so I'm not the only one not speaking Albanian and I don't feel like a wet blanket being like "Italian or English, please." Pressure is also on for me to let this friend sleep over -- with his girlfriend -- and I'm imagining myself saying goodbye to this kid and his girl as they lie on the living room floor sleeping as I leave for work on the 2nd, even though they were only supposed to stay over the night of Dec. 31st and I will feel bad being like "So.... ... will they ever go home?" I'm also anticipating feeling a great deal of annoyance, but trying to squelsh these feelings because it's really unfriendly to think that way and anyway he hasn't seen this friend in like 2 years and they want to get together.

OMg why am I so unfriendly??!?
