Hi Friends ,

First of all I would like to say thanks to all VJ members. You guys have been a great support and I would say this is the best immigration forum.

So here is my query :

I got my final interview date . Here's the USCIS notification:

On January 3, 2014, we mailed you an appointment notice for an interview for February 4, 2014.

Now confusion huh2.gif here is that I am in India right now due to some emergency and I won't be back before end of February .

Can I I postpone my interview to March? I already informed USCIS about my dad's health condition and now he is no more so I have to stay with my mom for sometime. Is that possible to reschedule my interview by calling USCIS ? Would it have any negative impacts on my case? I already got my EAD/Parole so status is not a problem for me. My only concern is that if I reschedule it, I don't want to wait for another 2-3 months. Does anyone among you guys have faced the same situation?

if yes, your replies will be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance and all you guys rock:) !!

Should I ask my wife to make an infopass and ask them to reschedule it? I can give her a copy of my dad's death certificate to prove that it is genuine and also my ticket showing that I am not in US now. I was reading it online and in some cases USCIS even denied the AOS .

My wife in US just made an info-pass and she got it for this Monday. If it gets delayed by 1-2 months, I guess I am okay as I already have my EAD/AP with me.

Staying with my family is the first priority now.

Thanks.
