Quick follow-up question: HANK_ you mentioned "watching the left side of the screen"

What should I be watching for? Is that where the calendar appears? (or what?)

Oh!!! And what should I do about THIS message (from refreshing once an hour): "You are approaching the maximum number of times you may view this page. Please complete your transaction at this time."

Obviously I would LOVE to complete my damned transaction at this time!! lol

Again, thanks to all.

This post has a picture example of what you are looking for on the left side of your dashboard: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/470417-help-pls-question-on-online-interview-appointment-k-1-here/?p=6700875

Basically its a notification of the next available interview date. If you don't see anything there, then there are no available dates. The schedule interview page has a limited number of times you can view it, and so by refreshing the schedule interview page, you approach the maximum number of times you can view it. However you are not limited in viewing your dashboard. Wait till a date appears to the left before you click Continue at the top to schedule your interview. Just refresh your dashboard page.

What you watch for on the lower left of the dashboard is a date, if no date is showing there don't bother clicking to "schedule an appointment". Just stay at the dashboard and hit F5 to refresh the screen from time to time.

Just keep in mind that because it says "next available appointment date is blah" on dashboard doesn't mean it's really available. When I was scheduling the an IV appointment, it kept saying that but when you go click thru the menus it'll eventually say "no available appointments".

BTW, if you keep hitting the page after getting the warning about approaching the maximum amount of times, it will eventually lock you out (for a day I think).

Unless you are a Yolanda expedite (or DCF) you do not schedule your own interview, NVC schedules that.

My sister-in-law is not a Yolanda expedite but she did get her I-130 application expedited.

NVC is not scheduling her appointment.

It appears that we will need to get that done from here in the US.

Unless I am not understanding how the expedite process works....

On the left side of the dashboard you watch for available openings to post, stay on that screen do NOT click on "schedule an appointment" until you see an opening show up. Now if you see an opening then click on SCHEDULING, but you have to be very quick as someone else may grab it before you.

Ahh, sister-in-law ... I was thinking differently. :)

Just the same if you got an expedite then you need to get the appointment scheduled.

when you see the date on the left and then click to schedule if you see not available it means someone beat you to it.

I felt the same way as you--nothing since mid-May, and I thought nothing would show until they decided to open July, but just got lucky. Keep checking and refreshing!

I was talking with one of my friends whose fiancée is from the Philippines. She had her interview earlier this month. They kept looking at the website to choose a slot for the interview, but their interview date showed up in the mail. He said the interview date comes with the medical exam instructions. Do we get the interview date mailed to us from the embassy? I am not sure if he and his fiancee were a special case. Or do we need to wait for the embassy to release dates or for cancellations to get an interview?

Thank you,

Jerry
