No appointments available for manila embassy

I was talking with one of my friends whose fiancée is from the Philippines. She had her interview earlier this month. They kept looking at the website to choose a slot for the interview, but their interview date showed up in the mail. He said the interview date comes with the medical exam instructions. Do we get the interview date mailed to us from the embassy? I am not sure if he and his fiancee were a special case. Or do we need to wait for the embassy to release dates or for cancellations to get an interview?

Thank you,

Jerry

Jerry, I'm Gary. For K1, if you read through the forums here, you will find that you need to look for an appointment date and sign up for it. If you look at one of Hank's many posts, he has a link in his signature that helps with the step-by-step processes. Hope this helps.

Hi Gary,

I spoke with my friend again. His fiancée created a profile on the Department of State website. They both kept logging into the website in search of an interview appointment and kept getting the same message that there were no dates available. They were getting very frustrated with it. They were about to call the embassy until they received a package from them. It contained the interview date and medical exam date assigned by the embassy. They did not sign up for it. It also included the instructions for the interview and medical exam. They were surprise to receive the assigned date because they thought that they had to sign up for it. I know that her medical exam was in April and her interview date was in early this month. Why would they assign a date for his fiancée and not others?

Thanks,

Jerry

For K-1 you schedule your own interview date. Only possible exception I could think of would be if your friend's fiancee was expedited because of Yolanda, but I am not sure of that. Otherwise interview dates don't show up in the mail... especially as unreliable as PhilPost is.

Normally you get your MNL #, you pay your visa fee, then wait a day and schedule your interview - normally... as of late doing the scheduling part is a waiting game.

For now watch for cancellations or for July to finally be released.

You are probably right. I didn't think about Yolanda. I will keep looking for an interview date.

Thank you again,

Jerry

- keep checking. Be patient.

Log into your dashboard and keep watching the left side of the screen, hit F5 to refresh the screen every now and again.

Can i do this even though it say "youre approaching maximum number of views to this site"? Or i need to wait first after a day before goin to my dashboard. Bec this will require me to log in too

That is up to you. Until you have max'd out you can still see the dashboard to watch for a date to appear on the left.

this might be late but I agree with Hank. Embassy doesnt send packets anymore. I got an email from them last week telling me that they received my physical file and instructions as per below regarding appointments and a lot more links right below this paragraph.

You do not need the hard copy of our interview notification letter and should visit this website: http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph or contact the Embassy’s Visa Information and Appointment Service at (632) 982-5555 or (632) 902-8930 to schedule a visa interview appointment. The Visa Information and Appointment Service is open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, except on Philippine and U.S. holidays. Callers in the USA may contact the Appointment Service at (214) 571-1600 between 8:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

I am also waiting for July appointments to show up. Good luck!

Thanks. Lets say an open date showep up to my dashboard, how can i grab it if i maxd out the number of views?

I don't know, give it a try and let us all know. I don't know of anyone that has max'd out and was still logging onto their dashboard the same day. If it works that would be great news.

YAY! I just got an appointment for next Monday! The Firefox extension Check4Change gave me an edge. I'd highly recommend it for those who are still checking.

Good luck everyone!

Jeff,

C4C seems to require some "text" to monitor the change of. But without a calendar popping up, what "text" did you instruct C4C to check?

You want to stay on the Dashboard screen and watch the left side for first available date to appear, don't keep clicking on the calendar if there is no date on the left side of the Dashboard.

Once the dashboard page loads, hit ctrl-A to select all of the text on the page and then right click to get to the Check4Change menu and choose your settings. Worked like a charm for me.
