Yes, of course. Only do the minimum. No big deal!!!!

You don't get extra credit for unasked for fluff. It can slow down the process and there has been cases where it has caused confusion and led to delays. Your adjucator will spend 15 minutes approving your petition (or creating an RFE...or denying it). Read up on how the process actually works. Yes, after over 5 months of waiting the approval decision is made in 15 minutes.

Look....your intent to marry. This is a time for you to be heard. Your trying to sell this as a bonifide relationship, right?

Put some heart into it, put some detail into it. Dont be afraid to be a little "mushy".

There isn't the need for the beneficiary's intent to be so in-depth. "I so, and so intended to marry so, and so within 90 days of my stay in the US....blah, blah.

Petitioner...tell when/how you met. When you two fell in love. How you proposed. Got the idea?

Really...just trying to help. This advise was given to me. Our process has gone on smooth as can be.

But by all means....write it as you see fit.

The letters of intent are simply affirming that you are legally willing and able to marry within the 90 days of arrival to the US. This is not the place to put mushy statements on how "you fell in love". If you want to write a letter about how you met and fell in love blabla then just write a separate letter about it. USCIS won't read it, but the embassy might. Also some people put this little "story" into their declaration of meeting.

Do not overcomplicate things.

Never said it was a requirement. Did you read that in my post? Dont think so.

Should it be???? Yes!!

No, it shouldn't. The I-129F petition has two broad requirements

1. That both applicants intend to and are free to marry within 90 days of the beneficiary's admission to the USA; and

2. That they have met in person within the 2 years prior to filing.

The reason why most people keep the letter of intent to marry succinct is so that point (1) is made extremely clear right on the onset. If you clog up the letter with mushy tales on how your relationship evolved, you run the risk of the officer mistaking it as a testimony of your relationship/relationship "timeline" and possibly even increasing your chance of receiving an RFE for a letter of intent to marry.

We ran into the same RFE and we sent back our intent in the simple example form as others have stated. Once we sent it in our K1 was approved three days later! We did write letters with a depth to them and they did not suffice for USCIS. So keep it simple!

This was our intent letter.

I, myname intend to marry, hername within 90 days of entering the US

Signed, Date

I, hername intend to marry, hisname within 90 days of entering the US

Signed, Date

Exactly. I would however also add the "I am legally free to marry..." part. That is ALL that is needed from both sides. No need for mushy love stories, the adjudicator won't care about that.

Yes they need one from both of you. Just write that you intend to marry within 90 days with the K1 Visa and you are free and able to do so

I agree with slowlyman, both of you must provide a letter of intent but I imagine you provided yours in your package. The letters do not have to be detailed, you just have to provide statements of intent. The letters are not proof of relationship, that is a separate issue all together and will have to be provided at the Consulate and during AOS.

Yes, actually. There is no requirement with the I-129F to prove your relationship. That happens for the K-1 visa at the interview, if they even ask about it there. The letters of intent are just that. No need for long winded, in-depth essays. What is needed to get approved is listed in the I-129F instructions. Nothing in there about proving your love and writing all about your relationship details. Nowhere does it state the petitioner needs to provide a different, longer, more detailed proof of intent to marry.

These samples work perfectly >

I affirm the above statement to be truthful. .hahaha!
