Ds-156k in Russian?

Two quick questions: My fiancee was concernded with them. Our lawyer didn't have a DS230 part 2 sent to us. I thought maybe we didn't need it for Moscow. Is that correct?

#2 Can the DS156k be in English? The Russian Embassy website says it must be in Russian and my lawyer sent it in Enghish. Are both ok?

Thanks.

Your fiancee will get one from the embassy.... it will probably be in Russian.

My lawyer didnt even know there was a part II to the DS-230, So I downloaded my own 230 and filled out both parts just in case she needs it, its already there neatly typed.

I filled out the 156K in both Russian, and English just to be sure, if you need a copy of the 156K in PDF format to fill out let me know and I can email it to you. The version I have you can save information to the file, Also if you need Acrobat Pro (to edit the text fields) i can get you that also. I just figured it would be more professional if both documents were neatly printed out by computer, and not handwritten.

If I remember right, your interview is soon, so; (i didnt have time to mail a copy, and she couldn't print out adobe forms at the internet cafe) so with Acrobat Pro you can save the form as a JPEG. That will print out anywhere, and solved our problem of mailing last minute forms

As far as I know Part 2 of the DS230 is just the continuation of the same form, the sworn statement. I am pretty sure you will need it. The DS 156K must be in Russian. My lawyer sent it to my fiance in English, but she also received a blank form in russian from the embassy with the packet, that has to be filled out - make sure she does NOT sign the DS 156K.

Good luck,

Mike.

Although it is better to have too much than too little, you guys are going a little over-kill with the forms and paperwork.

Your fiancee got a packet from the embassy with instructions on what to fill out and what to bring. Have her do that, AND NOTHING ELSE!!!

You have to send her your financial support docs, and she'll need to take those with her, but as far as having a mountain of paperwork in English and Russian.... FOR WHAT???

(This is my official "DON'T GET A LAWYER, YOU'RE JUST MAKING IT HARDER AND WASTING YOUR MONEY" statement.)

(It used to be way cooler, but then I decided to stop spending so much time on it. We've all got better things to do than trying to have the coolest MySpace page... It's like the guys that play video games online all day and say how hot Lara Croft is. "Dude, get out and see some real girls! They're hot too!" I'll throw something on my profile sometimes, but real life is way better!)

I just checked out your sites too. Awesome pictures!... Did you guys drink all that wine?

According to the Moscow Embassy web site. The DS156 must be filled out online and in English using English characters. The instructions we very specific. It did however say that the DS-157k must be filled out in Russian.

When our packet didn't arrive from the embassy I e-mailed them to find out why. The mail is slow in Russia right now because of the holidays. But they went on to tell me that all the instructions and papers are on the web site and to follow those instructions.

So which is is guys?

The Ds156 is in English and the DS156k must be in Russian.

Won't you still need the invitation that was mailed in the packet?.....the other forms you can get online.

I filled it out online, saved it as a PDF and emailed it to my fiancee for her to print out. It is the best way, in my opinion, to do it. Just make sure you double check all the information. As far as I can tell when you fill it out online, it does not get sent anywhere, just creates a .PDF file for you to save and print out to take to the interview. The barcode is used for scanning and fast retrieval of information at the embassy.

Good luck,

Mike.
