I don't have any proof of income. I was living in Mexico for 6 years so my income was there. My income is good in 2013. Wonder if I should file my taxes now and send 2013 also.

Prove your current income with an employer letter, or pay stubs. They will consider that over your 2012 tax return , even though you must submit the tax return. Or file your 2013 taxes. Do you already have all your 2013 tax documents? It's a little early to have those.

Did you file returns for the years you were out of the country? Total income from 3 years of tax returns is asked for on the form, but only the most recent has to be submitted in entirety (or use a transcript).

The RFE did not ask for proof of current income. They did not send in their complete most recent tax return, just the W-2. The RFE is asking for the 1040 from 2012 because they never sent it and it was required.

OP> As stated earlier in this thread, you can send the IRS tax transcript in place of the complete copy of your return(which includes the 1040).
