The Majority of Military Sexual Assault Victims Are Men. ( How could Danno have been so right?)

You brought up Rape as part of a sarcastic comment, that minimizes the seriousness of the offensive. If a idiot Repub had made the same comment you would be foaming at the mouth.

Hypocrisy at it's most brilliant and brightest.

It wasn't a sarcastic comment. It was a harsh paraphrase of what Danno said. There was only one woman where he was, and she wasn't a looker by any means, so she was treated professionally. Not hot enough to assault, I guess.

This is one reason I would never advise a daughter to go in the Military, if it is this bad with men on men, you can imagine the target Women have on their backs.

In the Marine Corps.... or at least in my MOS there were very few women around at all.

Eventually we did pick up a female but she was not what you would call a "looker" in any sense of the word..... though I am sure some guys might have been interested.

She was treated like anyone else as I recall, professionaly and otherwise.

First liberals use homosexuality to mock someone, now that make fun of rape.

You people never cease to amaze me.

Think Rape is joke material?

Well I tell you what, don't think about this too hard.

The assertion in Danno's post appears to be - we picked a woman who wasn't a 'looker'. Why wasn't she a looker? Danno doesn't say, however given that looks have nothing to do with professionalism, you might infer that she wasn't a 'looker' because if she were Danno and the other guys wouldn't be able to control themselves and the woman might be raped (at which point, presumably it would be the woman's fault for being a looker).

Now I'm certainly not accusing Danno of being a rapist, but the chain of logic in his post clearly implies something quite unpleasant.

You're right, rape isn't joke material. Maybe you ought to focus your disgruntlement on a more appropriate target. Just because you don't like liberals, you shouldn't give a pass to people who say worse things.

Danno's argument in the OP is that opening the doors to openly gay service personnel has resulted in all these rapes and sexual assaults. Leaving aside the question of proof (since none was offered for that assertion) perhaps I can ask a question in a similar vein:

Why does the military attract so many rapists?

Now if that's against the TOS, then so is the premise of the OP...

NB, you know as well as I do, Danno is dead wrong. What he is implying(not having the heart to say out loud) is that gay men are responsible for the man on man assualts in the military. As a veteran of 13 years, you know this isn't true.

Well honestly I don't think a heterosexual man would sexually assault another man, would he ?You saying straight men are sexually assaulting other men, Sorry dude that is not logical.

So the soldiers that committed various acts of sexual assault on the prisoners of Abu Ghraib that were of the same sex as they were themselves were all gay? Is that what you're saying? No, of course not because it would be an idiotic suggestion. Understand what has been pointed out plainly in the OP: It [sexual assault] is not caused by an overabundance of sexual desire, but is an act of violence perpetrated by people who want to hurt and humiliate the victim, using sex as a weapon.

Sexual assault isn't about sex, it's about power over the person. Wht's the logical reason to rape or sexually assault anyone? Even in the article, the men accused of raping other men identify as heterosexual.

There are better ways to make a power play over another man. The moment you decide that your d1ck needs to go up his azz, you're gay even if you say yer str8.

There is no power play that degrades a man lower than getting raped by another man. Period. It's the reason there are so many unreported cases in the military.

Sort of directed at the original poster...

Don't hold your breath, I believe Danno has left the building.

He said he only worked with one woman and she was treated professionally. He made a point to tell us that she wasn't a looker, though.

What does that mean in reference to her being treated professionally? Would she not have been HAD she been a looker?

exactly and to assert otherwise is absurd.

From my experience in the Marine Corps women were; by a fair percentage, not treated professionally or with equality regardless of personal appearance. I don't think that good looks would increase the occurrence of sexual assault but certainly would increase the occurrence of sexual harassment.

He said he worked with one woman. He indicated he did not find her attractive, although some might.

He then added she was well treated by all.

You in your fog of non comprehension turned that into, she wasn't raped because she was not a looker.

Once again..Amazing insensitivity to the issue of rape, total bastardization of what Danno said, and intended. You can squirm and rephrase all you want, it does not change your lack of sensitivity to a very very hurtful subject for many
