You seem to be obsessed with my posting of a family photo.

I thought I would share a happy moment and you treat it like there is something wrong with it.

Liberals are not very tolerant of those who are different than them

what does this picture have to do with School shootings?

I don't care who is actually gay or who isn't. I don't find the implication of someone being gay to be insulting, but to someone who clearly despises homosexuals, it would be.

I dunno what Danno's deal is other than ignorance. Linking the picture he chose to the article he chose is bizarre, and no matter how he'd like to sugarcoat it, it clearly displays his beliefs. Though he flaunts them proudly anyway.

To each their own.

Take comfort in the fact that he's a minority in his own country on this subject.

You don't have to imagine it, Danno. You just need to read what you posted when you started this thread - you apparently still haven't - and you'd know just how bad it is for women.

how bad what is for women?

I think the implication was, you fear what you secretly desire. Danno is obsessed with homosexuality to the point it does raise the question.

Indeed.

What's even worse, the artilce clearly says the rapes that involved men on men, those men identified as heterosexual.

Rape isn't about sex, it's about power and abuse. To imply that gay men are more likely to rape men is a bigoted and hateful.

Exactly. This is where the blatant bigotry of the OP became so painfully obvious. But bigotry is apparently welcome in this forum.

Sexual assault. It's what the thread is about, by the way.

"We had one chick, but she wasn't hot, so nobody raped her or anything." blink.png

First liberals use homosexuality to mock someone, now that make fun of rape.

You people never cease to amaze me.

Think Rape is joke material?

I actually find the comment about the woman not being a looker, so she wasn't assaulted to be far more offensive. But to each their own. Being a bigot is unfortunately not against the rules.

What was I joking about?

That's essentially what Danno said about his experience. There was only one woman, but she wasn't a looker, so she was treated professionally. If that wasn't what he was implying, there was literally no reason to add "she wasn't a looker".

Where was the part where I made fun of rape?

That imagination of yours is running wild again. Nice to see some things never change.

This is one reason I would never advise a daughter to go in the Military, if it is this bad with men on men, you can imagine the target Women have on their backs.

In the Marine Corps.... or at least in my MOS there were very few women around at all.

Eventually we did pick up a female but she was not what you would call a "looker" in any sense of the word..... though I am sure some guys might have been interested.

She was treated like anyone else as I recall, professionaly and otherwise.

Pretty much my experience also, during my 13 years. If anything women got over big time.

I did bring up rape, because generally when talking about sexual assault in the military, rape is included. No?

The Majority of Military Sexual Assault Victims Are Men. Now Maybe We Can Fix This?

In its latest report on sexual assault, the Pentagon estimated that 26,000 service members experienced unwanted sexual contact in 2012, up from 19,000 in 2010. Of those cases, the Pentagon says, 53 percent involved attacks on men, mostly by other men.

Part of the reason for this is that women are still a small minority in the military, representing only about 15 percent of service members. But what this astonishing number demonstrates is the truth of what feminists have been saying about sexual assault all along: It is not caused by an overabundance of sexual desire, but is an act of violence perpetrated by people who want to hurt and humiliate the victim, using sex as a weapon.

That’s why comments such as Sen. Saxby Chambliss’s during the Senate hearings on rape in the military are not just offensive, but flat-out wrong. Chambliss acknowledged the gravity of the problem but ended up minimizing it by saying, “Gee whiz, the hormone level created by nature sets in place the possibility for these types of things to occur.” These kinds of comments perpetuate the myth that rape is not that big of a deal, the result of miscommunication, or caused by men being just too damn horny and ladies being just too damn sexy to not rape.

And that's the first paragraph, sexual assualt is the topic of the OP.

“Hate is too great a burden to bear. It injures the hater more than it injures the hated.” – Coretta Scott King

"Oppressive language does more than represent violence; it is violence; does more than represent the limits of knowledge; it limits knowledge." -Toni Morrison

He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it.

You brought up Rape as part of a sarcastic comment, that minimizes the seriousness of the offensive. If a idiot Repub had made the same comment you would be foaming at the mouth.

Hypocrisy at it's most brilliant and brightest.

NB, you know as well as I do, Danno is dead wrong. What he is implying(not having the heart to say out loud) is that gay men are responsible for the man on man assualts in the military. As a veteran of 13 years, you know this isn't true.
