I don't know of anyone who believes they chose their sexual preference.

Its a big range. Some people find both males and females attractive. Those people can kind of choose. To say they were born 100% one way or another would rule out all environmental factors. They always play some role. I think people are born with tenancies in most cases.

Sexuality is a complex thing, I don't think anyone really knows for sure why people find different things attractive. Likely there are a whole host of factors and I expect it is impossible to explain it satisfactorily.

That said, I doubt it is something a person consciously chooses. No doubt Danno can dredge up a half baked article with a contrary view

Danno is right in that there is actually no biological evidence that homosexuality is caused genetics.

If it was that easy to define, then people wouldn't switch back and forth trying to figure out what they want. Like I said, there are levels, some people def know what they are, and some are somewhere in the middle. Don't forget Tila Tequila!!

Well the argument I suppose is that it's assumed that people that people are born gay. That can't be proven in a traditional sense that would be acceptable in scientific terms. Of course the other side of the coin is also an assumption - that if you aren't born gay that it must be something you choose. The positions are entrenched on both sides because debates on sexuality and morality are highly inflammatory.

Even if someone does consciously choose to be gay (again, not a belief i hold) I don't see why that should matter.

I'm not talking about bisexuality. Bisexuality, you're attracted to both. Do you think someone who is bisexual CHOSE to be attracted to both though? Like did they make the conscious choice to find them both attractive?
