Hello all,

so my husband and I reside in Michigan, and I am from Windsor, Canada (directly across the river). If I wanted to use my AP to cross for my university exams, graduation or just an aimless trip to my homeland - would I have an issue at the border?

Thanks!

No, that's what it's for.

If your AP is current you should not have any issues. Having said that, as a permanent resident you are expected to spend more time in the US than in Canada and as long as you do that you should be OK to go and return as you please. If you are questioned at the border be honest with the CBP officer. You do have valid reasons to take the trip and nothing to be afraid of. Good luck!

Even when it's repeatedly being used?

Yes, that will not be a problem, especially when you live so close the border. Just make sure you spend more time stateside than otherwise.

Thanks for your friendly response, I simply just may want to cross maybe once a month for a few hours to visit with my family! Nothing wild!

Cheers

You should be OK. Keep an eye on the expiration date of the AP!
