N-400 - JANUARY 2014 FILERS

so review this for plz,

1- n-400 application, electrnoic notification form and cover letter

2- photo copy of Green card, passport, 2 passport pictures with name on the back and A number

3-photo copy of marriage certificate, birth certificate of my wife, divorce certificate of previous marraige.

4- other proves like tax returns.

5- check for $680

what dod u think? any thing else?

You don't have to write all that on the copy of the green card. I would advice you to send more evidence if you are applying under 3 year rule, because if you take them the day you have tour interview it might take longer for them to approve your application. If you are applying under the 5 year rule, ignor what I said. Good luck.

another question, in the application, there r some question like that

is ur wife american yes () no () if yes go to question number 10 "for example" if no, answer the flowing

a- green card of ur wife---------------

b--time shes permanent resident ----------

my question is lets say i answer yes, do i still need to put N/A on the blank spots that does not apply to me, or just leave it and go to the question i have to answer?

Would someone mind adding our info to the chart? My daughter and I mailed her package yesterday - sent 01/25/14 to the Dallas/ Lewisville office. Our local office is Fairfax VA.

we're preparing all our docs to submit this week. I'm a little confused by part 7 A- how many days did you spend outside US in last 5 years.....well I've only been here since 2010?! and so in 2009 I wasn't living here yet, but if we're applying based on marriage to US spouse, how does that work, I'm a little confused.

Did you count the entire year or more that you weren't living in this country yet? sorry if this is a silly question, it just confused me a little !

Bibi - it's not a silly question, I had the same issue with #7. What I ended up doing was put the full number of days I spent outside the US for the past 5 years on from N-400, with an addendum to that question explaining that it's so many days because I only became a permanent resident 3 years ago. I included the number of days outside the country in the past three years in the addendum.

You only need to put the times outside the US since you arrived which is your case is since 2010. I wondered the same thing and I put the time I had travelled outside the US since arriving (I also applied based on marriage) I disagree with the poster above who tried to explain they didn't live here 5 yrs ago.

This forms is used for both 3 and 5 yr applicants so there are several questions which you need to adjust.

Thanks for your responses! I also did a little more googling and read on another site that someone simply crossed out the word 'five' and replaced it with the word 'three' for that question and they had no problems- provided of course the selection was B under Part 2, then USCIS would automatically understand you're applying under 3-year eligibility based on marriage.

So I think that's what we'll do too.

I just looked back at my copy - and it looks like I put my former Canadian address and employer back to 5 yrs......not sure why I bothered but anyway...can't go wrong
