My mom was sworn in at the same ceremony you went to :) Arrived around 7.30am and was hungry by the time the ceremony started. Should have eaten a lot at breakfast! Still, really happy mom is now a citizen!!! Thank you for the info about the USPS on Franklin St. I think we will walk in one of these days soon and apply for mom's passport!

Biometrics 05-24-2014

2nd Biometrics 06-04-2014

Interview 07-14-2014

Oath 07-23-2014

Arrived for the oath at 8.40am; actually, the time on the letter was 7am. However, I already read on the forum that they do not start the oath till 10am. The oath started exactly around that time and lasted for about 30mins. It was boring and uneventful. After the oath, I went to the Houston passport agency, paid $195, submitted the proofof travel, and was told to come back in 24hrs for pickup.

If you do not want to pay the expedite fee, USPS on 401 Franklin street, Houston, TX do accept walk-in from 9am-1pm, Mon-Fri.

1.27.2014: Delivered
1.30.2014: Check Cashed, Email and SMS notification received.
2.3.2014: Mailed notification of action received.
2.27.2014: Email/SMS of fingerprint notification
2.10.2014: Received fingerprint appt scheduled for 2.21.2014
2.12.2014: Biometrics done, walk-in.
3.14.2014: Yellow Letter Received.
3.27.2014: In line for interview (Exactly 1month before anniversary)
3.12.2014: Text and email that interview was scxheduled
6.18.14: interview day. Recommended for approval.
6.30.14: Letter received for oath on 7.23.14.

7.23.14: Oath day.

Oath scheduled online notification - July 28th. Letter not received yet. Quite likely for Aug 27th ceremony in LACC.

Update - Interviews done at Civic Center, Santa Ana on 7/8/14. Husband and I got interviewed separately by different officers. Smooth and uneventful. Got letter saying we are approved at end of interview.

7/10 - Got online notification of being placed in queue for oath...

I'm officially done!!! Received my shiny blue US passport today! Passport card and Naturalization Cert is on its way! Ahhhhh..... so happy! It took exactly 24 days from the time application was mailed to the day the process was completed (Routine Service). Mailed to me via priority mail, I received it within 3 days. Online status said, I will receive it on or about Aug. 4, but it came 3 days early. Woohoo!!!! Good luck to everyone who are still waiting! Cheers!!!

I had my interview in Santa Ana today. It was so easy! I got the first 6 questions right but only remember 5 of them:

1) Who wrote the Declaration of Independence - Jefferson

2) What are the 2 political parties? - Democrats and Republicans

3) What is the political party of the president? - Democratic

4) Name a State that borders Mexico - California

5) Who is the Commander in Chief of the Military - the President

6)???

The IO was SO NICE! I was on-time for my interview and was out of there in about 20 minutes. She recommended me for approval and said I'll get my oath notice within 3 months - but likely much sooner.

Hey Avie! After the Interview I was asked to submit originals of some docs they wanted. Gave it in and have been placed in line for Oath as of today. :dancing:

Get your Oath sked yet? I see Wenmix for scheduling as well. Nice!

It's taken time but light at the end of the tunnel. All well worth it. Good luck to all!
