Here is my updated status online - On April 8, 2014, your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was scheduled for interview. You will receive a notice with a time and place for your interview. If you have not received the notice within 30 days of the date the notice is mailed, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for further assistance.

I have to share my experience before I get to this status. My application placed in line for interview last February 27, within 90 days I must wait for updates....then waiting time started. I checked almost everyday my online status thru uscis.gov site and decided to create a profile so that I can received updates via email. The next status I received was On March 31 my application was placed in line for Interview. There you go ..( panic mode!) , I did a little math with this status. I have to wait additional 30 days!. I decided to inquire about what is going on. I called customer service then informed me that I do not have to worry since my application is still within standard processing time. I am very anxious to get this application done. However ,there's nothing I can do but wait. I still checked online although I already register for email notification, I can not help myself but check. I noticed the status changed , on April 7 your application was placed in for interview!. Ok that's it ,I said to myself - I give up tracking this application. But then, today I received an email notification that on April 8 it was scheduled for interview. And... the stress to study seriously for the civic test begin!. I have to watch my mailbox now.. when u have the naturalization interview, does the Officer approve it right away? or he tells u at the end of the interview, " i will review your case and let u know if u were approved or not" ?

I posted here in VJ I think you overlooked it,:-) a week after the online status of schedule for interview I got my Interview letter with date and time.

I am scheduled on May 15! I will post here my interview experience once done!

Mom had her biometrics done this morning. Nearly 4 months since her N-400 receipt date. Better late than never I suppose Now the wait for her interview letter begins.

Depends. The officer said "I am recommending your file for approval". But other places do the oath the same day as the interview, so they probably will be approved on the spot.

Can someone pleas update my case?

I had my interview today and was approved.

It was really easy...

The officer made some comments on the weather while we were walking to the office I guess to evaluate my English during the time we were walking... As soon as we get inside the office he immediately started the test.

I swear the test last less than 3 minutes since he asked me the 6 questions and I answered right away... Then he asked me to read a sentence

Who can vote in federal elections?

And then he told me... Write on the first line...

Citizens can vote...

After I did it he told me... Pretty easy huh?

Then he started to review the application with me just to be sure everything was correct, that probably took 5 minutes, then he gave me a document and asked me to double check my information cause that would be the info in my naturalization certificate and told me that I was being recommended for approval

He was really nice, even told me that my ceremony would probably be at the end of May or begining of June and congratulate me...

The questions I remember he asked me were:

1. What is the name of the vice president?

2. Why did the colonies fight the British?

3. What group of people was taken to America and sold as slaves?

4. What is the higtest court in the US?

5. How many amendments does the constitution have?

6. Who makes federal laws?

I can't wait to get my ceremony date

My Interview was today and approved. They had me wait in the waiting for another hour to wait for my interview notice, they wanted to hand deliver it to me, my oath taking is on the 21st of May. My long journey is now almost complete, I feel so blessed today. And good luck to those who are still waiting.

Tiferny yes my interview was at the San Fernando Valley Office. The interview went well the officer that interviewed me was really friendly but very detailed. He tested me on reading and writing, and also civics/history questions. After the test we went into detail with my applications. Overall it was good experience and the officer made it even easier. BTW how did you know it was the SFV office?

I had mine in SF TOO the IO was nice, i passed my civic/writing/reading test. BUT he gave a paper says "A decision can not be made on your application" and he told me to wait for our decision by the mail

I passed mine on the 7th, too at the SFV office. And the officer told to wait for oath letter which I got in my hands after waited a lil bit. Officer said they "only do this (give out oath letter same day) today"... lol. What time was ur interview? Maybe I saw u! haha
