Interview letter received! Interview is on May 22.

I was having issues with mail delivery at my current sublet in NYC, so I changed my address back to my more 'permanent', stable address in NJ where my in-laws live and where mail is reliably delivered. Interview was scheduled within days of the change. Seems like the NYC office is seriously backlogged compared to other offices.

I just wanted to share my experience so far and hopefully will be helpful to those who have not received a biometrics appointment.I filed in January and my priority date is 1/15/14. I had not received a biometrics appointment. So i called USCIS. After speaking with 3 2nd tier officers on separate occasions I finally received a letter referring to a service request I have put in a week ago with a biometrics appointment letter attached to it.It is scheduled for 4/29/14. The letter states my case is on hold until I complete my fingerprints. Nowhere online does it say i have received an appointment letter, nor have a received an e-mail to this effect. The letter talks about my request to reschedule an appointment????? I am hoping this will be the only bump and things will go smoothly from here. So keep calling folks....

My interview was today and the Mount Laurel NJ office performs same day oaths. My interview was at 1:30 - quick and painless and I honestly don't remember the questions they asked. It took about 15 minutes and then I left and came back to do my oath at 3:00. I'm officially a citizen! Citizenship ceremony was nice, a tad cheesy they played some videos and "Proud to be an American" and had us wave our flags and sing. All in all great experience, my Visa Journey has officially come to an end. Good luck to the rest of you waiting for your interviews.

I should also add that they didn't ask for anything extra during the interview even though they sent me a yellow letter requesting 3 years of tax returns. I had everything ready just in case but they didn't ask for anything. When I went into the room, she had me stand to swear I would tell the truth. She then went through the same series of yes or no questions that are on the N-400 Application. She then had me do the reading, writing and civics test. Very simple! Then she told me I passed and that they were going to be doing an Oath Ceremony later at 3:00 p.m. and asked if I would like to be sworn in then and I said yes.

The ceremony was nice, we watched a video with older pictures of immigrants landing at Ellis Island. Then they read off all of the countries we were from and had us stand when our country was read, then we said the oath. After that he showed us a video of Obama welcoming us and then the God Bless The USA video, where things got a tad cheesy, with the flag waving and singing. Still happy to finally be finished with immigration and being able to vote.

Columbus OH doesn't do same day oath. The people who had the same interview day as mine all got naturalized yesterday at the same oath ceremony. It seems that different field office has different schedule and way to handle this.

Congrats! Very exciting! : ) Doesn't ur field office offer same day oath? U didn't wait long tho : )

Hay I m live in newyork in queens I was apply in march 10 after my 5 years aniversary of ma green card I had myfinger prints on 14 april and my case update on 16 april I m in line for interview secdualling well its been 17 days now on no response I m check every day my mail box may be I can get the good news or I can recieve the yellow letter but stillll ahhhhh

But all the best we alll are on the same boat I m a march Filer
