I don't know what I did wrong guys please help me if you can kindly, well I mailed my N400 to the dept of homeland security at 201 varick street #5 Ny, ny 10014 does this mailing address sounds accurate to anyone? I googled the address and that's what it gave to me. Also I am currently out of the country on a get away trip in Canada at my husbands home because he is Canadian and I am a permenant US resident. I am trying to file for my US Citizenship so I can file for him to dwell with me in the USA. I got my green card through my dad he was a US citizen but he past away of Cancer in the heart on Jan-2014. It's Feb 2014 and I filled that N400 out and mailed it to the wrong dept I think but after mailing it I booked a flight to canada to get away please help, I can't afford a lawyer to do my paper work right now. I want to know what to do and where do I send the paper work to since I am from NYC. Thanks Lots and lots Xo??

I really think you should call the USCIS number. They have more accurate answers and you may also visit http://www.uscis.gov/n-400, I dont see that address google gave you is in the instruction though.

OK -- I actually just responded to your similar post in the other thread for February filers (see my post there: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/478257-n-400-february-2014-filers/page-9#entry6838929 )

Please don't take this the wrong way, but the form N-400 itself comes with a detailed set of instructions. The instructions contain everything you need to know about where to mail your application. Did you look at the instructions at all? If not, you need to go through your entire application while looking at the instructions to make sure you answered everything according to the instructions.

You can go to http://www.uscis.gov/n-400 to download everything you need:

- The form itself;

- The instructions to the form;

- Other documents such as a document checklist and eligibility worksheet.

You already mailed your documents to the DHS, and I suspect they will be very confused. They may return it to you or destroy it. If you're lucky they will forward it to USCIS, but I wouldn't count on that.

2007-02-26: filed for K-1

2007-03-19: K-1 approved

2007-06-11: K-1 in hand

2007-07-03: arrived in USA

2007-07-21: got married, yay!

2007-07-28: applied for green card

2008-02-19: conditional green card in hand

2010-01-05: applied for removal of conditions

2010-06-14: 10-year green card in hand

2013-11-19: applied for US citizenship

2014-02-10: became a US citizen

2014-02-22: applied for US passport

2014-03-14: received US passport

As posted above you selected the incorrect address. I would cancel the check or money order that you paid the fee with and start fresh with a new application, reread all instructions and then mail to the approrpriate address for people living in New York State. THere are really only 3 locations to mail to - Arizona, Texas or Nebraska and which one is based on which state you live in and your situation. The instructions will tell you where people in New York State should mail to.

How did they inform you that you were in line for interview? Email? Online status?

You will get a text and email updates everytime they update your case if you signed-up and created an account on USCIS website. That's how I found out about my in-line and interview schedules. Good luck!

https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard/CaseStatus.do

Just done with my biometric today!, the officer wasvery helpful.He congratulate me when he checked my noticed of action is for citizenship. He gave me idea that I will probably received letter for the interview 2 months from now. I hope earlier !. Without asking, He handed to me a booklet and a piece of paper with listed website. It is for my reference materials to review and prepare for my interview. Then he handed me a form to fill up before he can get me started for my biometrics. The form is pretty simple to fill up, Once he got the form back he stamped my Biometric appointment letter and then called me. He scanned my 10 fingers for 3 times , then asked to sign on a digital pad ,and then took a picture. He was polite to let me checked if I like the photo , he told me I need to make sure because that photo will be use for my citizenship certificate. Well, all in all it took 20 minutes. I cant wait for the letter of appointment for my interview.Hopefully March!
