Hey Jimmy and Wiz,

I also filed from NYC in early January and was put in line for interview on January 20th. I'm in Brooklyn and the field office for my area is in Queens. The processing time for NYC as a whole is about 6.1 months, as I'm sure yo know, so it will be a while before we receive an interview letter.....

However, Jimmy, I think it is highly unusual for you not to be put 'in line' at this point. I'd definitely try every avenue available to find out what's happening. I've heard people say they asked to speak to a "tier two" officer when they call and maybe that makes a difference? I don't know much else. Sorry. Good luck.

Your case was super fast...like 2 months!

Thank you Volu! I hope all goes well for you too.

The lady at my interview confirmed: it's better to be very thorough and send too much info (as long as it's well-organized), that helps with faster processing.

Oath ceremony was very simple. Arrived, checked in, guests waited separately. Received a packet including:

-Program for the ceremony (Video, Call of countries, Oath, Pledge of Allegiance, Video from Obama, Presentation of Certificates)

-Various info sheets/brochures (how to apply for passport, passport application, voter's guide, voter's registration form, a letter "from Obama")

-a "Citizen's Almanac"

-Pocket sized Declaration of Independence, and Constitution

-Certificate holder for naturalization certificate

After certificates were given out, we were told to check them very thoroughly to ensure no mistakes with name, DOB, etc because if not changed the day of, there is a fee to make changes later.

The officer presiding the ceremony also held a question period. Only funny question was from an apparently hungry man: "Are we getting any food today?" Lol. I thought it was a valid question since the ceremony is held at lunch time...at least coffee/water would have been nice!

I PASSED MY CITIZENSHIP INTERVIEW!!!

Civics test:

1. What is an amendment?

2. Who did the United States fight in World War II?

3. What is the Supreme Law of the land?

4. What is the capital of your state?

5. What do we show loyalty to when we say the pledge of allegiance?

6. Who vetoes bills?

English, reading test:

-When is the Flag Day?

English, writing test:

-Flag Day is in June.

Sorry I was late updating my interview experience. My hubby and my 2 year old was with me. We arrived at USCIS building around 10:45am. My appointment was 11:15am. Parking place was not a problem because there are plenty of space to park outside the building. The security was just like the airport, we had to take off everything including coat, watch , belt, wallet, keys, etc. The security guard took my interview letter and asked for both our DL. We didn't have to take our shoes off. A lady at the window called my name and took both right and left index fingerprint, then took my photo. There were only 2 applicants in front of me. I waited for 45 min before an IO called my name. I noticed that he looked at my husband and my son. He said, good morning, Ma'am! Then he led me into his office. He asked me to raise my right hand to tell the truth, etc. I saw my 2-3 inches thick file on his desk and I curiously asked him if that is my file, and he said, yes. He asked me to check and confirm the information on a piece of paper in front of me if it is correct because he said, these information will be on my Naturalization certificate. My interview took about 15 minutes. He asked me if I'm still married, then I saw him glanced at my hand, maybe to check if I'm wearing a wedding ring? Then asked me if I have ever been arrested before, and if I have registered to vote, I told him, not yet! Lol. Then he asked me the "yes" and "no" questions on my application. He also asked, "Do you support the constitution, and are you willing to take the full Oath of allegiance to the United States?" He didn't ask for my passport, maybe because I have never travelled outside the U.S. since I arrived here. I brought with me loads of evidence including all the original copies of everything I sent with my application but he didn't ask for them. Didn't bother to get an extra 2 photos either, I'm just lazy. Lol. He didn't ask for it, too. He only asked for my GC. He gave me back my GC, I was surprised when he returned the certified copy of my marriage cert that I sent with my application. He started to ask the civics test without warning. Lol. He only asked me 6 questions, I answered all 6 right so he stopped there. Then he told me to sign the bottom part of my application, (he was watching me while I was writing, I made a mistake writing the first letter of my last name so I said, I'm sorry I was nervous, then he said, it's ok). Then he handed me the famous N-652, Naturalization Interview Results that says I PASSED!! And he was recommending me for approval! He asked if I have any question, so I asked when is the next ceremony gonna be, he said, they will send me a notice between 4-6 weeks. Then he escorted me out of his office, I said, thank you! Then my anxious husband asked me as soon as I got out about the result, told him I passed, he's the happiest ever! The guard gave me 2 thumbs up and congratulated me and said, see you again for the ceremony! Overall, it was a pleasant and easy experience. My IO was very professional. So glad my interview is over! Now, waiting for my Oath letter!

You HAVE to take the last list and copy that one and add to it! You keep taking an old list and adding to it. Problem is, by doing that you forget everyone else's info that they added since that list was posted. The most recent list was Sprailenes then L&S used an old one. Please let us know if you don't understand what we are talking about. (Sprailenes- I see when I tried to fix it last time, I somehow left your new info off, lol, sorry!)

By the way, when you do the 6 civics questions, are they multiple choice? Or do they ask you and you just have to answer?

Also on that flag day question- they write what month is flag day in and then tell you to write the answer, or you have to hear the answer and write it?

The civics test is NOT a multiple choice. The IO asked the question orally and I had to answer it orally. (I could answer all 100 questions by heart already. Lol!) About the Flag Day question, the IO gave me a piece of paper and asked me to read the sentence on the 3rd line which says, "When is the Flag Day?" Then he gave me another piece of paper and told me to write on that piece of paper the answer. He gave me the answer, I had to write that answer on that piece of paper. He told me, "Flag Day is in June." So, I wrote that! It was easy. Take note: On the piece of paper he gave me, there were 3 lines, he specifically told me to write the answer on the 3rd line. So, I figured it has something to do with the English understanding part. Good luck!

We are wondering if we go Monday or not. They sent us an email saying to pick our dates (from about 15 choices) of course we picked the first one, but we have received no confirmation or anything, so not sure what's going on...
