Hi everyone,

We are a K1 visa couple and have our AoS, EAD, and AP were submitted and subsequently accepted on December 6th, we received our NoA1 on the 16th and had received the biometrics appointment notice over the holiday season.

As we had a RFE in the K1 process my question is this:

Is the biometrics appointment letter automatically sent or do they wait to send the biometrics appointment letter after having reviewed the documents/evidence that you submit?

We learned our lesson during the K1 process so we don't expect any RFEs,but it would be great to know now that we shouldn't worry about any future RFEs. :)

Thanks!

Agree with agnesb. You can be the recipient of an RFE anywhere in this immigration process.

I thought we were going to get an RFE at the AOS interview. Thankfully, the quixotic IO evidently cleaned his eyeglasses and found the information he was looking for.

As an aside, if you are selected for an AOS interview, interpret very literally all of the instructions on the Form I-797c AOS Interview appointment, including:

All documentation establishing your eligibility for Lawful Permanent Resident status.

I was asked to provide the original of my divorce decree. Thankfully, I had it available for inspection and a copy for their records. If not, that could have likely resulted in an RFE.
