Question about medical exam in Israel

Not sure if there are many Israelis in this forum section, but please help if you can! Not sure where else I can post this...

Husband needs to make an appt for his medical exam in Jerusalem, which is very far from where he lives. Can the medical exam be done in one day? Other than vaccination records, is there anyway to prepare for this? Also can he get the medical results in the same day? I heard people have to go back a few days later to get the envelope, but he lives far away (3 hours) and it would be very inconvenient to have to go back there for that considering he needs to make another trip to Jerusalem for the interview.

Thanks!

Hi...My husband is from the west bank, and has to go to Jerusalem for his interview....Last week he did his medical exam in ramallah...they did not complete it in one day..he had to go back to another village to get a certificate saying that he had been vacinated for small pox in his childhood...then when he went in today to finish his medical...the doctor did not send his chest xray film to the other doctor to give his clearance on it..so he had to wait on that..and then wait on it to be sent back to the first doctor...such a pain in the butt....Hopefully you can get all done in one day.

Oh geez that is a pain in the butt! Thanks for your response! I'm going to have him call and make an appt on Sunday for sometime this month and hopefully he can get some answers on the phone to prevent that back and forth from happening. I guess this is really the last BIG inconvenience until his interview haha. Good luck with your husband's interview!

Tell him to take alot of money....the dr. took a little over $300 from my husband...and this was without the smallpox vaccine. I'm beginning to think it is all a money making process.

Oh boy. I did read somewhere it's between $300-400 with everything or more if more tests are needed. I'm hoping he's had enough of the required vaccinations. My husband has been working hard in preparation to pay for that and his upcoming flight to the US. In the end, this is a very expensive process. All these "little" fees really added up over this last year. :/
