DCF - London CR1 Visa - Wait time for LDN file number?

Hi All,

Thought I'd add my timeline as I am just a few weeks behind you all, impatiently waiting on my LND case number as well.

I-130 submitted 19 Nov

NOA1 received 20 Nov

NOA2 received 12 Dec

I've emailed the embassy via their contact page as of today, asking if they can provide the case number by email. I did not specify that I did DCF though, so they may just ignore my request...but I figure it couldn't do any harm to ask. At least most of you on here have actually received letters, which is good to hear.

Really hoping to be in CA by end of March, maybe that's just wishful thinking? Still keeping my fingers crossed, just so daunted at the prospect of us both starting over from scratch, job wise, I want to get started seriously job hunting already! I'm the petitioner, and we've lived here in the UK for the past 9 years, but I was pretty young when I left and stupidly did not maintain any real ties there - have to retake my driving test, reopen a bank account, etc...

Anyways, I shall be watching this thread closely for updates, hopefully more people will add their timelines for January. Luckily my husband already got his police certificate and vaccination records,so now we just twiddle our thumbs and wait....

Her: USC, UK Permanent Resident since 2008

Him: UKC

I-130/IR-1 visa by Direct Consular Filing in London:

1 Jan 2006: Immigrated to UK

19 Nov 2013: I-130 filed
20 Nov 2013: NOA1 (email received on 25th, check your SPAM!)

12 Dec 2013: NOA2 APPROVED
7 Jan 2014: LND number and packet 3 arrived (dated 2 Jan)

10 Jan 2014: DS-260 and Notification of Readiness completed online

20 Jan 2014: Medical

20 February 2014: Interview scheduled (emailed embassy via the contact form on 5 Feb)

smile.png Yes its difficult not feel the warmth of achievement and then the cold wave of panic.....

So much to do. I asked for my medical on Feb 4th so I can get immunisation records and shots completed, so timewise I am just behind you Appleslices. Depending on house sale I will look at moving to U.S in May/June.

Have to be brave and start offering my baby for sale (my car smile.png ) its going to hurt saying goodbye....OK OK I'm obsessed.

Sorry Sunshine - email the London embassy and don't forget to include the names of the petitioner and the beneficiary in your email. They do respond in a couple of days.

Best of luck you two and let us know who the various stages workout for you.

DS-260 subbed

Medical booked

Readiness Form Sent off

OMG IT'S ACTUALLY HAPPENING

Really sorry you're experiencing this Sunshine. Here's my timeline if it helps at all -

My petition was subbed start of November, received email notice November 7th

i-130 approval was December 5th (4 weeks, to the day!)

LDN number 4th Jan (dated 30th Dec) ( so 4 weeks again, give or take a day)

Medical booked for Mid-Jan.

Hoping to be out in the US in March, but we'll see smile.png

Just wanted to add that we got our packet 3 yesterday, dated 2 Jan. I have to say I am surprised how quickly things are moving given the holiday break, am keeping my fingers crossed the rest of the process is this smooth. My spouse will be booking his medical today, and filling in the D-260 this weekend.

Great News Snorbs...

D-260 is somewhat involved tip: write down all your addresses your spouse has lived at since 16 yrs old first as you will need all of them. All career job details for the last 10 years. You can take the first five years from the the copy of the I-130 you submitted and add the other 5 years as well on this new online form.

Remember to print off the confirmation sheet at the end after you have submitted (it has bar codes all over it)

Rest is pretty straight forward - hope all goes well.wink.png

So I just had a little freak out about this, because the DS-260 never asked me about 10 years of jobs. I've just gone back into it to view it and I only get 3 questions under

Work/Education/Training Information Primary Occupation trg_bk.GIF
-Select One- AGRICULTURE ARTIST/PERFORMER BUSINESS COMMUNICATIONS COMPUTER SCIENCE CULINARY/FOOD SERVICES EDUCATION ENGINEERING GOVERNMENT HOMEMAKER LEGAL PROFESSION MEDICAL/HEALTH MILITARY NATURAL SCIENCE NOT EMPLOYED PHYSICAL SCIENCES RELIGIOUS VOCATION RESEARCH RETIRED SOCIAL SCIENCE STUDENT OTHER

Provide the following information:

Present Employer or School Name

Then

Do you have other occupations?

trg_bk.GIF
Yes No
In which occupation do you intend to work in the U.S.? trg_bk.GIF

-Select One- AGRICULTURE ARTIST/PERFORMER BUSINESS COMMUNICATIONS COMPUTER SCIENCE CULINARY/FOOD SERVICES EDUCATION ENGINEERING GOVERNMENT HOMEMAKER LEGAL PROFESSION MEDICAL/HEALTH MILITARY NATURAL SCIENCE NOT EMPLOYED PHYSICAL SCIENCES RELIGIOUS VOCATION RESEARCH RETIRED SOCIAL SCIENCE STUDENT OTHER

Then on the next page

Have you ever served in the military? trg_bk.GIF
Yes

No

That's literally all i get, then it moves onto the "petitioner" bit.

Anyone know why mine is different to the published pdf? I definitely filled out the 260! :)

someshine it seems to me (although I am new to this too) that your LND number is lost in the post. I'd politely email again giving them your petioner/beneficiary details, politely advising you haven't had any response and you want your LND/file number. Worth insisting its been 12+ weeks. Its strange they usually respond to emails. Can anyone else suggest a route for Someshine to take?

Thanks GF for talking me off the ledge. cray5ol.gif I'm happy to report we finally got a reply a few minutes ago!! We didn't get the actual letter, but this email says that they sent us a letter on 22 October, which is closer to the date we received the "wait 8 weeks for more news" letter so I don't think they sent the follow up packet that date. Anyway, whatever, this email included our LDN and links to next steps. Now on to the rest of it - finally!

A huge thanks to everyone for their commiserations over my lack of letter, you guys are awesome. Really helps to have others who can sympathize!

I guess if this happens to someone else reading this in the future my only advice is to keep emailing and holding out for a reply. My next step was going to be sending a letter snail mail, and failing that, calling an immigration lawyer. Glad it never had to go that far. Thanks again everyone! luv.gif

FANTASTIC congratulations someshine....Now book your medical by phone and then fill in the DS 260 and the email conformation form (digitally) in the meantime whist you wait for your medical to take place get your immunisation history print off from your Dr and have any shots done for free there save you time and hassle at your medical.

Best of luck, glad things are finally moving....

Cools. Just wanted to check.

Anyway - don't freak out. At least you probably have time to get your jabs done for free at your local GP's, and I don't think anyone has ever been denied a visa for a bit of baby weight. smile.png

If you're worried about the turbo tax things (I don't know much about US tax yet, but that rings a bell - I think that's what Nich-Nick uses), order IRS tax receipts instead. They're free, IIRC, but might take a little while to make it to you in the UK. You can use them instead of using whole tax returns: http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Order-a-Transcript

Thanks so much for this Lost! They arrived in the US today and we're getting them Fed-Exed over. Pretty fast turn around from the US tax office, really pleased about that! Never would have known without your pointers

:)

I had a couple of jabs at the old GP from mean nurse but she wouldn't give me a new MMR, so got that to look forward to at the medical. Bleh!

Really pleased you got your LDN finally Someshine, how annoying that it got lost in the post, I wonder why can't they confirm with an email, too much work I guess.
