Is there anyone currently waiting or just received their LDN file/case number from the Immigrant Visa Unit in London?

My NOA2 advised that it would take 8 weeks before they would contact us again. Its already been 5 weeks and I was wondering if they are running strictly to the 8 weeks or can anyone advise is it sooner or currently taking longer than they state?

Really just want our case number so we can get the next stage medical booking, online filing etc underway.

If you want to try and get your LND before Packet 3 shows up, call the department of state and ask if you've been assigned one yet. Sometimes Packet 3 just gets lost in the mail.

I'm wondering the same thing as I'm in the same boat, but when I call this number -

For inquiries about visa cases and the application process call: (202) 485-7600, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm EST.

The people there just ask me what my case number is, and then when I don't have one, hang up on me :( Is there any special wording or anything I should be asking for? because they literally just go "What is your case number, you will have one, it's on your NOA1" and wont listen to reason, then hang up (This has happened 3 times now!)

How long has it been Appleslices that you have been waiting for your LDN number?

I've been waiting nearly 6 weeks, I emailed but then they advised the wait is 8 weeks and I will hear.

Not sure if I am being impatient - not generally a good thing I guess we have to accept that the Government machine works slow, we aren't the only ones being dealt with. The Holidays will have slowed things up somewhat.

I haven't called DoS as yet but will try this afternoon from the UK its 11:00 am here so may wait till this afternoon to get them on EST (5 hours behind us).

Did you explain you filed with the consulate direct in London and not the NVC centre? That may be the reason why they are confused your NOA1 (like mine) will not have a receipt number on there as it wasn't generated by NVC in the U.S - it came from the London Embassy.

I'll let you know how I get on.

I absolutely tried to explain. Very politely as well, but I have honestly never had such a "computer says no" experience in my life!

If you do get through and get more love, I'd be really happy to hear :) IF you could confirm what number you used as well, that would be great. I might get my Husband to call as he might have better luck with his Texan accent!

Tried calling a few times for all the numbers I have for the DoS but never get chance to speak to an actual person they are just recorded information lines. The one number listed on the info guide on here for DoS is outdated and now that line is unused (recording for DoS says so)

So no joy getting anyone on the phone.

Have emailed using the contact form - guess no choice but to sit this out and wait.

Hello,

I can't really help but I think I can add to some of this information.

We filed the I-130 for my husband (UKC) on September 24, 2013 and the petition was approved on October 17, 2013. The letter we received says that we'll receive more information in eight weeks: we're now in week 11. I sent an email today asking for information. We've also changed addresses since we first filed - we do have a mail forward in effect - so I'm scared that maybe it was sent but not received. Like you guys are saying, my letter doesn't have a file number and the contact phone number is just automated.

Any suggestions on what to do if I don't hear back from my email would be appreciated.

I'll make a note to come back and post here when/if I hear something.

Timeline for DCF London:

I-130 sent Sept 19

NOA1 not received

NOA 2 received Nov 5
(With approval date of Oct 17)

Packet 3 'arrival' Jan 13
(Our packet allegedly got lost in the post. After several emails,
I received an email with our LND number in lieu of a packet in the mail)

Completed DS-260 Feb 4

Medical booked on Feb 5 for Feb 7

E-mailed NOA Readiness Feb 5

Packet 4 arrival Feb 26

Interview March 26

Visa granted March 26

I think you have to select the right order of choices. 1 then 0 or something (a forum search should turn up the sequence). Then you'll get a human.

Tried six different numbers so far Lost-at-sea with little or no success. Seems DoA have either changed the number, moved the line or a recording only.

When I did have an option to choose - I then got a recording directing me to the website for further information.

Some sunshine doesn't sound good to me,11 weeks???!!! I suspect something may have got lost in transit - maybe they sent to your old address and your mail forwarding service is in error. Or the black hole of post didn't help. Some guys on here got packet 3 and their LDN number by digitally by email so hopefully that will be a good route for you to check?

I have also emailed them today so maybe one of us can get something.

Fingers crossed keep me updated - best of luck. ClockWatch2.gif

I can definitely get through to a real person on - 001 603 334 0700

But "Computer says no"

I was too busy to try and call today, but you're welcome to try that number and see if you get better results than me smile.png

Digitally wise, I tried emailing, but got "this email box is now closed" , I can't get through to the London embassy at all, all just recorded info.
