You know, I think Makato has a point - and I don't say that very often!

Some people have a relationship based on emotional touchy-feeliness, and others demonstrate their love in different ways. I don't see anything wrong with wanting your spouse to understand what makes you tick, and if that's breakfast in bed, watching the football together and a stroll on the beach, so be it. As long as Makato appreciates the things that make his wife tick also. It's no good if there's no give and take, but as long as each partner is providing at least something that the other really values and appreciates, it's all fine with me. And if his wife doesn't like football and he doesn't like shopping - well, that's what your friends are for.
