Hello All! Happy new year!!

I hope someone can help me with this situation. it has me very preoccupied!!

I sent in my AOS packet for my husbnd last week, I made out the check correctly with the correct amount. However, silly me, I sent the wrong check, (it was for the wrong bank account). what I did was, I made a stop payment on the check with my bank. The bank stopped It and uscis did not take the payment. 2 days ago I received my email and text notification that uscis received the aos packet with the case receipt number.

my questions are as follow:

1. will uscis send me back the whole packet? I hate to have to fill out that whole packet again :(

or

2. will they just ask me for another payment, like sending me an rfe with the blue, pink or white paper stating there was no payment?

thank you very much in advance! I greatly appreciate your help!

If they do not receive payment, they usually reject the whole thing and mail it back. They have already assigned you a case # though, so not sure how it will work in your case. Stopping payment is not the same as having insufficient funds when they try and cash it. Let us know what happens.

Since they already assigned a case number I would think they already cashed your check. In any case if they dont receive proper payment they would normally just reject the whole package and send it back to you.
