Should I call ICE About My Roommate's Sham Marriage?

Sounds like you're looking for validation for what you already want to do. It also sounds like she's not helping herself by not filing paperwork but since there are kids involved it's not an easy decision. What happens to the kids, is the mom really a bad person? IMO, the immigration system is close to dysfunctional and I tend to agree with those who are saying, let it run the course and get a new roommate if you're uncomfortable. I sympathize with your wait...when we applied I checked the USCIS 'estimate' which was 3-5 months. It was 15 months before we were reunited. Then there was 4 more years of waiting, fees, and more waiting. It's pretty ridiculous since all the system really does is test your ability to navigate forms and interviews.

My whole thing is, if she was trying to commit fraud, and is fully aware of the consequences of doing so, why is she verbally announcing this to you on several occasions, even if you are her roommate? Not to mention whoever else she might just casually be telling without thinking about it.

Though it's not right in my eyes, a lot of people that come to the US illegally or are trying to prove a fraudulent relationship are very cautious and private and paranoid about their status (for good reason), and if she valued being around any of her family members at all, she wouldn't be running her mouth with the risk that she could be separated from them. That is her fault and guilt if she gets deported, not yours if you report her.

We all have so much going on with our own cases though, I would report her, but don't get too wrapped up on what she is doing that is wrong and stay focused on getting your case approved! :)

Report them even if they do nothing you have done the right thing. Those people that say leave the criminal alone doesn't deserve to be here either so ignore them

Wow..you do not have to be so rude about this. I obviously do not support what shes doing but then remember that this is only one side of the story we are getting. Makes me wonder in the first place why would she share such a sensitive information with a room mate. If she is indeed guilty then God is there to punish her. If not now someday she will get it. This is just my opinion and I dont expect everyone to agree with it but that does not mean that i am going to be negative about them.

Happy new year.May Buddha shower his blessings on all of us.

Listen

You should report it and clear your mind. I work in law and if you know something you should report it. If ICE finds that a crime has been committed then they will look into it. I tried to report my ex husband and all they did was give me the run around. I'm not saying that they won't do anything about it but you should have some type of proof of wrong doing. I agree that so many frauds do prevent us good ones the chance at happiness.

If you can give ICE something to work with then ICE will follow thru. Do the right thing.

I understand that there will be bitter people here

who petition people who have abused of left, they

cannot post it here, but they may be going through

hell so they give others hell due to hurt.

I would think OP should report this from day one, the

minute you find out someone of a criminal nature

immigration or otherwise, get rid of them because

you can get charge for having an undocumented

person in your home but this story has like a friction

or falling out, you must have been close roomates to

have so much information, about her papers, or might

have search through her things whatever it is and

your decision, just remember she can turn around and

report your marriage as fake too," A you say I say"

can evolve, its also not good being under the same

roof with such feelings, having started and stop her

documents may also end up in her favor.Just be

careful.

write a letter of attestation.

Drop it off at a local USCIS office, once you have an infopass appointment.

Whilst at the infopass appointment, ask for the FDNS officer. Talk with the FDNS officer a bit, and give over your letter of attestation.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

It's just hard to do that when illegal immigrants like her are hurting legal I-130 petitioners like me and my wife so much.

you say she is hurting you?how is she hurting you...by her actions is she takign food away fromyour table?denying you health care? giving you diseases? or making you sleep bad at night..you say Obama's DACA like Obama went to El Salvador and brought her here

whats wrong with people.

I think that entry to the US should be reserved for those that follow the laws , all the laws not just the ones that are easy, I think there should be no immigration reform, all illegals should be deported with a lifetime ban, no forgiveness of overstay, no waivers for criminals( which would automatically include illegals) . I also think that welfare should be done away with and there should be no minimum wage let supply and demand control wages. Also end bankruptcy and make debtors pay off the debt they incurred. Teach only English in schools and only issue high school diplomas to those that can pass a standardized test in English, math and science. There probably isn't one bleeding heart on here that agrees but I feel that is why the US is turning into a dump of lazy fools with their hands out for a free ride.

like America started off as an all english speaking nation..did not know the Ammerican Indians were also English

You know what I like about doing the immigration the correct way?

We ( her and I ) don't look over our sholders every day.

We do not have to worry who's at the front door.

We do not worry if we get pulled over by police in a traffic stop.

People who have illegally immigrated to the U.S. spend the rest of their lives dealing with those issues.
