You put your destination as L.A. but where are you coming from?

17hour layover plus 2 stops from ANYwhere.... better be a great price.

Thank you for your reply , Im traveling from Casablanca (Morocco) to New york, then from new york to Los angeles

I have not understood well your answermad.gif

17 hour layovers are very long. The other poster was suggesting that the price for the ticket should be low with that long of a layover.

Personally, I would take the two stops with the two layovers. 17 hours in one airport would drive me crazy. But that's a personal preference.

When we travel to Almaty we have a choice of a 7 hour layover in Frankfurt or break that up into a 2 hour layover in Frankfurt and 2 hours in Chicago. I prefer the 1 stop as the trip is shorter, there is less chance of lost luggage, and less change of delayed airplane due to weather of mechanical problems. 17 hours at one airport maybe a bit of a stretch, but I would rather do that than 2 7+ layover myself. Just to give you and idea of why we like the 1 stop is that my wife missed the plane in Chicago but her luggage made it. The next time she made the flight but her luggage did not. If travelling this time of year weather can cause delays. Nothing worse then getting into an airport only to not be able to leave.

My vote is the 1 stop very long layover. If your POE (point of entry or first landing in the US) is NY you could go see some of the city before going back to the airport for the next flight. Nothing says you have to stay at the airport.

Good luck,

Dave

I have taken this trip a few times and the entire trip is average of 19-23 hours.

If you can try kayak.com.

Also go on Air France web site directly and put in your search there. If you can be fexable with dates maybe you can find a shorter flight WITH a good price.

Having suggested this...if you take your flight you found...I too would stay with 1 stop and try to rest up in those layover hours and not make 2 stops.
