Saylin, I have a problem.... Trying to scan Police Certificates to my computer but they are on long yellow paper. Too long for my scanner??? What can I do?

Try to find a place with a longer scanner then as you'll need the entire document scanned.

Update for Saylin's spreadsheet... NVC package received (from USCIS) on 1/21/2014.

The next time tick for you is the case number being assigned. I don't have a column for NVC receiving the package.

I would suggest using a scanner with a paper feeder if its just a bit longer, that's what I did when I sent in papers to USCIS.

Good Luck.

I really hope I am doing this EP right. I am not the best with computers. I have sent all individual PDF attachments in one email. So for the I-864 email I sent total of like 17 attachments which is all my tax transcripts and so on. Maybe I should have hired a Lawyer:(

I guess I will try Staples tomorrow.

I took a photo of mine with it taped to the wall, a good light source and a good camera. It was completely acceptable to both the NVC and the consulate (I saw their print out of it.) Plus the consulate gets the original.

Saylin, people run to you for the smallest problem don't they? lol

Seems that lately NVC has been receiving packets over 2 weeks after USCIS ships them out sad.png

yes they do.. poor Saylin.

Sometimes they don't recieve the package for up to 8 weeks from NOA2 date. The package goes to their mail room and sits there for a bit until someone can open it and scan it in. Only then does the NVC say they have your package. It's probably sat in the mail room for a week BUT the NVC reviews over 50000 spousal visas a year, assigns numbers to all the K1 visas, and also deals with parental, sibling, children, tourist, work, etc etc etc visas. Some of which require intake at the NVC, others which don't, but still, if there is a visa needed to go to the USA, at some point in time it goes through the NVC and needs to be opened, scanned, and reviewed unless it's dealt with directly at a consulate/embassy level.

Hi everyine, I have question about the I864. Part 6 #5 says: My curent individual income " (see instruction)", Where is this instruction? Is current annual income the income in 2013 or income in2014 from most current pay stub? My husband, the usc, is self employed, how will we report income in this line?

I am canadian citizen by naturalized. Legally immigrated to canada 20 years ago. Came to canada at age of 20. Do I need police check from my original country?

The instructions are in the same place as where you found the form: http://www.uscis.gov/i-864 And the question is referring to how much is CURRENTLY being made, right now, as of the filing of the paperwork.

Yes, you'll need a PCC from your original country as you were over 16 still then. Read the info about Police Certificates on NVC's page, here: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/submit/documents-to-submit-to-nvc.html

Don't get discouraged.

You can also try one of those nifty document scanning apps if you have a smartphone. Just be sure to "scan" it under good lighting and avoid shadows.

Our case was just transferred to NVC. I have my I-864 ready to go, but now we are in a new year. I cannot file my taxes until after Feb 18th due to my stock plan. Can I still use 2012 as my latest year?

Yes. Until April 14th (tax deadline), 2012 will still be considered the most recent year and 2013 tax information won't be required. But, for some people here, if their interview date is after April 14th, then 2013 tax information will be required at the interview.

Called and got my case number today! I wasn't asked for email addresses and when I questioned the rep he told me that they would send an email with what to do next. From what I read in the first post, you're supposed to give them the email addresses? Confusing, thinking I should call again tomorrow. I wasn't expecting to hear they had a case number so I was bit surprised and forgot to ask for the IIN anyways.

my husband got our case number last tuesday and told him to call again for info and to update our phone number and emails... so today he will call NVC.. :)

Way to go NVC! My case was sent for my parents on 1/7/14 to the NVC and I called today and was told that it was received at the NVC on 1/21/14. That was just 14 days so I am well impressed. The lady told me at the NVC to wait 10-20 days for the case number. You better believe I will be calling nearly every day starting next week for that number ;) I am honestly very impressed that it took so little time to hit the NVC from Nebraska. One little step closer!

November 14th 2013 - Transferred to Nebraska Service Center

January 9th 2014 - case changed to NOA 2 mailed

January 21st 2014 - Case Received at NVC

February 26th 2014 - Case numbers and IIN number received - Wrong embassy code assigned...now waiting for new case numbers.

March 3rd 2014 - Filled in DS-261 for both parents

March 5th 2014- AOS available, paid and submitted AOS packet.

March 6th 2014 - USPS shows packet was delivered at NVC
