when exactly is the AOS fee bill generated? I got my case number and IIN on 12/27/13 my husband submitted the ds261 on 1/17/14 but the AOS is still showing up "not invoiced." Is there something wrong?

within 48 hours of the IIN existing.

as to 'something wrong' - please talk with a supervisor at NVC, nowish.

Please remember the DS-261 and the AOS are not co-related in any way.

--

after a reread - sorry, I suddenly remember you are attempting to rehome yer casefile to another embassy. The petitioner should have called on 'getting IIN day', gotten a supervisor THEN, and asked for the rehome to another embassy. Done then? it's about 48 hours to get it rehomed.

Sorry yer having these troubles, really.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Sorry yer having these troubles, really.

i am the petitioner

update: so just called the NVC again… spoke to some stuck up guy - asked politely if i could please speak to a supervisor regarding my case because my embassy reassignment request is taking too long and my aos fee bill has yet to be invoiced. He said that the supervisor won't be able to do anything or give me any more information than he himself and went on to say my case is "on hold and under review" because of my reassignment request and I should give them 30 business days to have that done and that I should call back next Wednesday. As of today, my email request with the proper documentation was received by the NVC on 12/31/2013 and it has been 14 business days. WTH?!?! When i emailed the NVC on 12/23 (the day i got my case number but not IIN bc the representative wouldn't give it to me), I sent in a request to have the embassy changed from Islamabad, Pakistan to London, UK. I got a response on 12/27 saying that they needed proof of residence and address for my husband in order for them to carry out the request, I emailed the required documentation in the same day and got an acknowledgment on 12/31 that they are reviewing my case and I will be contacted when the review is complete. 14 business days later, and they still haven't completed their review for something so damn simple. Can you please help me, i'm ready to blow a fuse and my sinus infection and pregnancy aren't making any of this any more pleasant!

You have to give them the time to do what they're going to do. They record when you call. They make notes of your attitude when you call. Don't ever think they don't. Also sometimes you have to ask for a supervisor multiple times to get one, they are busy people.

I just don't understand why people cannot give these workers the time to do their work?! They see tens of thousands of cases a year. They understand what you're going through. But if you sat there looking over my shoulder the entire time I was working, I'd be angry.

ya gotta push past the NVC TeleOperator that answers the phone.

Focus on the 'how', for that, at the moment.

I've had to do that, a lot, when our casefile was at NVC. It's a bit of social engineering, to be certain, as most of the NVC TeleReps don't give a sh|t and you cannot let yer exasperation bleed through during that phone call.

You need to ask for a supervisor straight up, without any further explaining on the phone call - remember that, as the #1 rule. Sure, you have to identify yerself, they have to do a casefile lookup, but once they start reading the screen, simply say 'Please transfer me to a supervisor, I have something that you can't handle and you cannot see in your screen' and leave it at that. Repeat it, if necessary.

Once you actually get a Supervisor - GET THE NAME of the Supervisor, write it in yer log book. Pose yer questions, ask if the reviewer went on holiday or maternity leave, and inquire for the status of the casefile rehome.

When you call in again, ask for the Supervisor by Supervisor name, telling the NVC TeleOperator that you've an issue that this supervisor has been working on (and nothing else).

NVC TeleOperators are SERCO Contractors and they 'make their numbers' by the # of calls they take each hour. I was an exception, you are an exception, so talking to you will hurt their call count numbers. Keep that in mind. [i hate SERCO with a passion, almost as much as I hate CGI/Stanley] .

Oops, I'm starting to rant here - other info that's useful. When talking to an NVC TeleOperator - keep it light-hearted !! Get them to laugh !!! They seem to listen more if'n you keep them laughing.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

The only signature needed will be the petitioner on the I-864 for the AOS, everything else is online (DS 260 and DS 261).

when you call the NVC and talk to an operator you can ask about if your IV package got reviewed and accepted and this is the way i did last time and i found out they did review and accept the IV package.

Give them at least a week or two to review anything. Then call maybe every few days. Pay close attention to see if you get checklists, real or false, in your email.

The ideal time for rehoming is at the time you get the IIN? I have a similar situation as hunnymoon, but still no case number to speak of.

great news you got today from the NVC as for the IV package got reviewed and accepted and don't worry the AOS checklist will be reviewed ..so the IV package they reviewed they scanned it into the system on December 31 which tells me they are working now on the January cases smile.png

Well I just called them and my IV packet was scanned on Dec 31st also. I got a nice talking guy on the line but he didn't want to give any information. Anyways he said we received two packets they are still under review.

On hold with NVC right now. I hope they received our packet already though it's only been about a week since USCIS *said* that they shipped it there.
