I know for a fact that they do not case at all. My wife earns over $90,000 a year but finds it very hard to save. Lives in LA and has to be over $1000 a month on student loans. Actually, a friend of mine immigrated to Boston last year and his wife has over $50,000 debt in credit cards and loans (not student related), and did not have a penny to her name but she earned over the requirement. As long as you meet the income requirement, that's fine.

Thank you for your reply, I appreciate your time.

Called and got my case number today! I wasn't asked for email addresses and when I questioned the rep he told me that they would send an email with what to do next. From what I read in the first post, you're supposed to give them the email addresses? Confusing, thinking I should call again tomorrow. I wasn't expecting to hear they had a case number so I was bit surprised and forgot to ask for the IIN anyways.

Hi Saylin,

Does NVC care about how much money is in my savings/checking account? I meet the income requirement but living in LA and paying all my student loans, i am pretty much living paycheck to paycheck.

thanks,

As another member said, no, they could care less. As long as you're making over the poverty line, you're good to go. My husband is a horrible saver and is in a bit of debt. They didn't care at all.

Reading the new NVC site instructions on mailing IV civil documents package, they give this address:

National Visa Center

Attn: DR

31 Rochester Ave. Suite 100

Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914

BUT....on the bar-coded receipt, they give the following address:

National Visa Center

Attn: CMR

31 Rochester Ave. Suite 100

Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914

It's my opinion that you should use the address that's on your bar-coded cover sheet, even if the website says differently. What do you think, Saylin?

It honestly doesn't really matter which you use as NVC will send it to the appropriate department.

How do you know when the case left NVC to be at the consulate?

Call up and ask! Then call up DOS to find out if the consulate/embassy has received it.

I wasn't expecting to hear they had a case number so I was bit surprised and forgot to ask for the IIN anyways.

Congrats! I'd suggest calling back up later TODAY and giving over the email addresses, as well as getting the IIN.

Right now I am in an hourly job, where I work 20 hours a week. Before taxes I make $23,000. Will this be a problem for NVC, that I work hourly? (There have been some weeks because of snow where I don't work the regular 20 hours a week)

Dear All

as i have seen this Related matter

and the person below message is pasted which i have seen in these columns

he got check list saying use COVERSHEET FOR DR DEPARTMENT

so call NVC AND CLEAR before sending

as things will get more delay again for all of them

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I got a question guys. I got a checklist for i864. I mailed out updated i864 to CMR AOS department now I got an email saying use coversheet for DR department. Should I send this again to DR department attention?

My documents will be delivered to them tomorrow morning. Hopefully they will scan it in the system by Friday or latest Monday. I sent the documents to CMR AOS department and today I got the actual checklist in email which had a cover sheet for DR department. Hopefully that won't slow my process.

Got confused, once case number and IIN are available, is the site both accessible by the husband or wife? or is it only the husband who is allowed to fill it in..thanks..unsure.png

in my case, only access by the petitioner.....
