Yes - after they gave me case and invoice #s, I asked if I should give them our e-mails, and he said it wasn't processed far enough yet. According to him, they'll want those in another day or two. I figure I'll call back tomorrow and see if I can give them.

Wow! It just seems like every step is taking longer and longer. I'm becoming very impatient. Thanks for the info! ;)

Here's a question for the room - on the NVC website, it says that an e-mail with all correspondents' e-mails should be sent to them. Is that just a longer version of calling and giving them over the phone? Or is that the method for folks using an attorney?

Hi Saylin

I am waiting for case completion..

12/20/2013- IV Paid

12/20/2013- Checklist for AOS

12/20/2013- Responed to checklist

12/23/2013- NVC received packet

Holidays...

We called NVC they said we started reviewing process

1/6/2014

They said its still under reviewing process....

How long it ll take to complete the case?????????

I am very worried...

When did you complete the DS-260? When did you send in the IV package?

Operators are saying 30 business days to review packages. Typically a bit shorter though in reality.

Question about the DS260 guys, please help..

Example, lets say my name is:

surname/married - SMITH

Middle/maiden - CRUZ

given name - APRIL MAY

When i started ds260, the surname and given name fields were already automatically filled out.

Surnames SMITH

Given names APRIL MAY

then under that there's "Full name in native alphabet"

What should i use? APRIL MAY SMITH or APRIL MAY CRUZ SMITH ??

Im just confused..hope u can help me, thanks! smile.png

That question is only if your native alphabet doesn't use Latin script. As far as I know, the Philippines writes in the same language as English, so this question isn't applicable in your case.

This is awesome!!!!!!!!!

hi, all! We just got approved with our i130 this morning! Fresh newbies about NVC stage! But thank you Saylin for this post!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sooooo blessed to have all my questions answered just by reading post 1 and 2!!!!!

Bless you for your work, Saylin!!!

Will try to call after a week!

Glad you've actually read the first two posts! Here's star_smile.gifstar_smile.gifstar_smile.gif for you! While waiting, make sure you read them again and again for the information to soak in ;)

Saylin,

I looked at the 125% needed for the AOS. Do we have to count the two beneficiary that are about to immigrate? For example, I have a household of 3, but the AOS will count for 5 ( i.e. 3 in household plus 2 beneficiary).

Yes, you have to count the intending immigrants.

Finally got case # today! I knew something was different as soon as the NVC operator asked me for beneficiary's name. Every other time, as soon as I gave them my receipt #, they would say "this case was received in the building…. blah blah blah" So hooray!

Apparently, it's not processed far enough for them to want our e-mails yet - will call tomorrow to try and do that. But got case # and IIN #. Now to go back and read posts 1 & 2 smile.png

I'd suggest try calling again later tonight. I wasn't able to give my email addresses over right away either, but when I called later that evening, I was able to!

That's just for those that don't call in. It'll be waaaaay faster just calling as you'll speak to an operator right away. It could be quite awhile (re: many business days) before they get to the email request.

Sayling

Just wanted to know for your case, did you use any affidavits from family & friends having first hand knowledge of your marriage? If the affidavits are not notarized does it have any value?

I didn't send any proof of relationship in my IV package, so no. And even in the I-130 package or at the interview, I didn't have affidavits. I only included affidavits in my ROC package last year. They weren't notarized though. They may not hold as much "value" as a notarized copy, but it's still evidence.

Our case was transferred to tsc also and it took around 30 days from noa2 to shipping notification from uscis. And around a week after that, our case was received from nvc..

Hi, My Filipina- Canadian wife and I are 1 day behind you guys exactly from the TSC we got our approval there on Dec 12 and finally reached NVC on January 14. I called yesterday but still no case number. Good luck to you. I think you will be faster than us because Manila will process fast after a case complete, but ours will wait another 4-6 weeks for the US consulate in Montreal.

All the best

Ugh now i have another problem :( this ds260 makes me feel so dumb

On the instructions for Given Names it says "Your given name includes any first name and any middle name that is listed in your passport or travel documentation. If your passport or travel documentation does not include a given name, please enter 'FNU' in Given Names."

The middle name on my passport is my maiden name. Should i also include that in the given names field? Im worried they may think it is part of my real given name since American format for names is different from that of the Philippines.

Well, I'd go with the instructions and list the middle name under given name. Don't worry too much about it though. I've never personally seen a checklist for the DS-260 in the 4 years it's been around.

Just a quick question. Wife is currently pregnant but won't be due until around September. We're waiting on the NVC to receive our case and would assume that her interview would be completed before then. Does the unborn baby count on the I-864 and what do we do for the medical she will be having in Toronto.

Before I answer, please post your question just ONCE. Posting twice in the span of 30 minutes is extremely excessive.

The IV track has nothing to with the AOS track. So the stuff about the DS-261 is not important in regards to the AOS bill. If it still isn't showing PAID for almost a month, there's a problem. Did the money leave the bank account yet? What do the NVC operators say when you've been calling them up?

Just a quick question. Wife is currently pregnant but won't be due until around September. We're waiting on the NVC to receive our case and would assume that her interview would be completed before then. Does the unborn baby count on the I-864 and what do we do for the medical she will be having in Toronto.

Nope, unborn children don't count on the forms. And unless something really bad happens, your wife should be in the US before she gives birth.

As for the medical, it still needs to be done, pregnant or not.

Hi Saylin,

When I fill out my I-864 do I need to fill out part 7 since it still wont put me over the threshold ?

Part 7 (section on assets) is always optional, whether you can qualify on your own or not.
