Saylin,

I looked at the 125% needed for the AOS. Do we have to count the two beneficiary that are about to immigrate? For example, I have a household of 3, but the AOS will count for 5 ( i.e. 3 in household plus 2 beneficiary).

Daaarnit! I had scanned my documents in one PDF file prepping for sending the AOS, and they changed it on me! (maybe I'm behind in the times, or maybe it just changed, lol - for anyone else prepping their AOS that may have been putting them all into one PDF)

Group A: Electronic >> Email scanned forms and documents

If your case is processing as part of Group A (see Table 1 above), then you must submit all forms, civil documents, and financial evidence to the NVC by email. To submit by email, you must scan the document to create Portable Document Format (PDF) files. You must save each file with a name that includes your NVC case number, the full name of the applicant whose form or document was scanned, and the name of the form or document – below are examples of file naming

(case number_name_document/form)

  • ABC2009123456_John_Doe_I864.pdf
  • ABC2009123456_Jane_Doe_Birth_Certificate.pdf

i sent mine in and did not do it this way. should i resend?

Hmmm, I would assume they would still accept it as one file, as I believe it was just changed. I had never read it having to be submitted as seperate forms until they updated the site.

This is where I found the info.

http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/submit/how-to-submit-documents-to-the-nvc.html

Maybe someone else could chime in?

Id bet at the very most they would give a checklist? But that seems silly just for a new way to submit the forms.

Yes - after they gave me case and invoice #s, I asked if I should give them our e-mails, and he said it wasn't processed far enough yet. According to him, they'll want those in another day or two. I figure I'll call back tomorrow and see if I can give them.

Here's a question for the room - on the NVC website, it says that an e-mail with all correspondents' e-mails should be sent to them. Is that just a longer version of calling and giving them over the phone? Or is that the method for folks using an attorney?

Thanks guys!

you can only put in an address change when they have your case in their system and it has been assigned a NVC case number. If you are in the same country then no big deal bc most correspondance is through email once those are given over,; however if you have moved countries the process is a bit longer as I am currently experiencing.
