Hello,

Another simple question: since we got married, my wife has used the full name <first name> <maiden surname> <married surname>.

On the DS-260, for the field "given names," should we put <first name> only or <first name> <maiden surname> ?

She would like her name to appear as <first name> <maiden surname> <married surname> on her green card.

Thanks again!

We just received notification that TCS has sent our file to the NVC. About how long will it take the NVC to receive it. Our petition was approved last week monday. This is the notice we got today.

Application Type: I130 , IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN

Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity

On January 21, 2014, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

TSC is famous for sending this and then not actually shipping it for weeks. Especially from them, it can take up to 8 weeks to ship to the NVC and then another 2-3 weeks to the NVC number. I suggest the USC petitioner calling the USCIS and speaking to a tier 2 to find out exactly when the file is shipped so you have a better idea of when it will arrive at the NVC. Either that or either party can phone the NVC every few days until they get the case from TSC.

Hello,

What is the name on your wife's passport?

Aye

For people looking for a time frame to their interview date, please inquire within the February Interview thread. That has the most updated information on how long people are waiting for interviews from case complete date.

THANKS!

ive read this instructions many times, and we fall under CCA 2000 one parent is a naturalized USC. i just got confused when saylin said "depending on how you qualify"

and if our cases joined together at NVC this does mean he only have to insert 1 tax transript, w2, and AOS?

For the I-864W, there's different qualifications. The first question on the form asks why you're exempt. Depending on what you answer, you may have to provide documentation (as stated in the instructions of the forms).

If the cases are joined, you'll still need to provide a separate I-864 form for each (obviously, as the form is asking about one specific person. If there's two children in your case, they'll each need their own). And if you qualify for the I-864W, tax transcripts aren't needed. Please go back and read the instructions for this form.

hey saylin sorry to bother,

i am a medical student, i dont have any income for 2013 but for previews years yes, i have ordered my transcripts and my friend is going to sponsor my wife.. my question is that my friend is married so would he be sending his transcrips only or do we need his wifes also.. i need to know bc if thats the case then i need to have him order hers now ..thanks guys

If he filed jointly with his wife, then they only have one set of tax transcripts. It's not like it's different for either of them. But, he will need to include his W2s if they filed jointly as it only shows combined income on the transcripts.

My case was approved on Dec31 and sent Jan 6 just called again and the lady said that they have still not recieved my case? Is it because the NSC hasen't actually sent out my case or they just have not processed it?

Another question will my husband need to get all of these vaccinations??? If so I should go have him check his bloodwork now to see ig he does indeed have them

Hepatitis A

Hepatitis B

Influenza

Influenza type b (Hib)

Measles

Meningococcal

Mumps

Pneumococcal

Pertussis

Polio

Rotavirus

Rubella

Tetanus and diphtheria toxoids

Varicella

Call up USCIS to confirm the case was indeed sent out. Also, keep in mind, the package may be sitting in the mail room at NVC. It'll only show up in the operators' system once the case has been scanned, which can take awhile.

No, not all those vaccines are needed. The vaccines required are dependent upon the age of the applicant. Check out this link (http://www.panelphysicians.com/Pages/Immunizations.htm) and choose his age from the list. That'll show you what's needed (be careful and read everything as some items may still not be required).

Has anyone been able to download the screenshots for DS-260 from the webiste http://www.docstoc.com/docs/49845403/DS-260-screen-shots and willing to share? I am having trouble downloading the screenshots

You don't download the screenshots (unless you want to pay for them, as I heard they're not free). You simply look at the screenshots on your computer using the little toolbar they have.

Anyone know how long it takes after case complete to get interview scheduled at the London embassy?

Time frames for interview dates differ by country. You need to do YOUR own research. Start here for the UK: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?cfl=0&op1=3&op2=d&op3=5&op4=1&op5=5,6,8,10,11,13,14,15,16,17,18,20,21,22,25,26,27,28,108,110,111,208,210,211&op6=All&op66=All&op7=United%20Kingdom&dfile=No&adv=

Dears,

Our case was approved on January 3rd. Called NVC today and asked whether our case was received at NVC from USCIS.

The operator informed me that they received the packet at their building on 14th January and when asked about the case number, he said it will take at least 15-20 days to get the case number.

Usually does it take this many days to get the case number, i mean more than a month?

Just curious to know, if I receive both the case number and invoice Id from the NVC operator, what would be the next step that i need to start?

Thanks all for your help.

John

What is the name on your wife's passport?

Since in Korea married women retain their maiden names, her passport shows her name as:

Surname: <maiden name> (spouse of <married name>)

Given names: <first name>

Since in Korea married women retain their maiden names, her passport shows her name as:

Surname: <maiden name> (spouse of <married name>)

Given names: <first name>

Then that's how she should write her name on the forms and that is how her visa and then green card will come.

15-20 business days for case complete after the last docs have been received at NVC. If you get a checklist then the clock starts again.

They generally wait till the end of the month(last week of the month) to issue out interview dates. They would be issuing dates to all case completes before JAN 20th for the month of MARCH the last week of this month (next week). This is based on the pattern that we have seen NVC for the past several months. That being said, there have been a very small number of cases that have not followed this pattern.

In your case : Since you are IR1/CR1 if there are open slots for interview available they could assign you an interview date some few days after case complete otherwise you are looking at April interview provided there are no issues with your documents

Good Luck
