Hi Saylin,

I know you put a lot of info about I-864 but what about I-864w? I fall in that category and correct me if I am wrong, that form do not require tax documents and employment letter like the regular affidavit of support, right?

Thank you in advance for your input.

Looking at the I-864W instructions, no that stuff doesn't seem to be needed. But, depending on how you qualify for the I-864W, you may need to send other documentation in its place.

Help please, on the DS 260 where it ask if the spouse is immigrating to the US wit you? do i put no or yes, anyways im already here in the US.

thanks

For IR-1/CR-1 cases (where the spouse is a USC), then the answer is obviously no as they can't immigrate to a country in which they already live (or are a citizen of for those doing DCF).

I have filled out and I-864. I am also planning on having my parents as joint sponsors. Do they both need an I-864, and an I-864A? My parents jointly file their tax returns, do they both need a separate form?

I just assume that they run the forms into a computer and blank spaces causes an error or something so I tell my husband (repeatedly) not to leave any blank spaces. When filling out the form on Adobe Reader some spaces don't allow special characters or letters in number blocks so when he prints it out he manually writes out N/A or none

Daaarnit! I had scanned my documents in one PDF file prepping for sending the AOS, and they changed it on me! (maybe I'm behind in the times, or maybe it just changed, lol - for anyone else prepping their AOS that may have been putting them all into one PDF)

Group A: Electronic >> Email scanned forms and documents

If your case is processing as part of Group A (see Table 1 above), then you must submit all forms, civil documents, and financial evidence to the NVC by email. To submit by email, you must scan the document to create Portable Document Format (PDF) files. You must save each file with a name that includes your NVC case number, the full name of the applicant whose form or document was scanned, and the name of the form or document – below are examples of file naming

(case number_name_document/form)

  • ABC2009123456_John_Doe_I864.pdf
  • ABC2009123456_Jane_Doe_Birth_Certificate.pdf

Awww, in that case you have to redo your pdf saved file.

But thank you for letting us know that quick. I am about to scan my docs and save it as instructed before.

Btw, I have a quick question, how to scan the long marriage certificate? How did you guys submit that long marriage certificate online?

I have the regular printer only.cray5ol.gif Maybe scan it to the cafe and save it to my usb?

Another pretty quick, At USCIS stage, we submitted also the birth certificate of our daughter and a CRBA certificate, are we going to include again this at this stage (NVC - IV package) as one of our proof of relationship?

Thank you VJ's members especially Saylin & Darnell & NLR.

Try downloading a document scanning app on your smartphone, I think that's what my husband used.

Proof of relationship is optional at NVC stage. You don't *have* to but if you want them to include those docs in the packet they will send to the embassy then you can send it in. You can also bring it at the interview yourself.

THANKS!

ive read this instructions many times, and we fall under CCA 2000 one parent is a naturalized USC. i just got confused when saylin said "depending on how you qualify"

and if our cases joined together at NVC this does mean he only have to insert 1 tax transript, w2, and AOS?
